Very disappointed. Have previously enjoyed many meals in various cafe rouge restaurants. Went this evening for mother’s day and the quality of the food was just poor. My son ordered ‘minute’ steak medium rare, it looked like a burger. My daughter ordered macaroni cheese but it was a bowl of pasta with cheese sprinkled on top! We sent it back and it wasn’t ‘cheesy’ and the same bowl was brought back with slightly more cheese grated on top! My husband and i ordered the ‘moules’ And they were very disappointing. Small and rubbery and the sauce was shocking. Rather than a good creamy garlic/wine sauce it was like a celery broth! No flavour or seasoning at all. After many years of enjoying cafe rouge, I am very disappointed by this experience.

The worst lunch I ever had. We odered 2 different burgers, but finally got 2 same ones. As we were waiting for a quite a long, didn't bother to change it. Burgers was with no sauce at all - very dry, so I couldn't even cut them with my knife. Don't seems to me, that they been cooked fresh. No way I will go back there or recommend it to my friends.

I decided to give Cafe Rouge a try one lunchtime as visually the restaurant looks slightly more upmarket compared to other chain restaurants and I was curious to see if it lived up to its image. The girl who greeted me was friendly and polite. She put me on a table opposite the staff station which was on a busy walkway that led to the kitchen and toilets - this was despite other tables being available and it somewhat detracted from the dining experience. The waiter who served me was very rude and sarcastic; perhaps he was trying to add to the French experience. I ordered the Rouge Burger which arrived in a respectable time. The portion was generous for a lunch sitting however it was probably the driest burger I have ever eaten - the meat was overcooked and the bun was so dry I'd question its freshness. Overall the experience was disappointing and I won't be returning for another meal.

We ordered 2 beef burger through wuntu app and both was supposed to come in a brioche bun. But it came in a bap (that looked like it's from Tesco- 6 for 99p) with no explanation of bun shortage from the kitchen. The beef was also a bit burnt and dry. Even the chips were over done. I am very disappointed on the service. If café rouge can't afford to be part of wuntu, then don't participate. We had the beef burger before and it was good, but never expected this like a total different burger. I will attach the photo difference of burger I had before and today's. I will not recommend going here again to anyone.
