Having read the reviews we were sceptical to say the least, but this indian was round the corner from our hotel, offered vegan food and claimed 'authentic indian' so we were interested to try. We weren't disappointed, the staff were friendly and wanted us to sit in and experience the food, but we were set on a take out. All the meals are freshly prepared. The food was delicious, we got a potato korma each and it used coconut milk, it was yummy, we also had the vegetable biriyani, which for us was a bit hot but we can't handle any hot food!! - couple this with an onion baji each and it was all round a wonderful meal. It makes it very clear that it is all vegetarian, the staff are on hand to discuss vegan options but I wish it was a little clearer on the menu - overall great experience.
Very nice authentic Indian food, would recommend and will probably be back for another meal soon! Good value for money as well
Having lived in India for nearly two years. I can say this place has “high quality, authentic Indian food” majority of India is vegetarian. So other Indian restaurants I have been in Hampshire are far off to traditional tasty veggie food. The food here is delicious as if you were in south India itself!
Honestly the best Indian I've ever had. The food was authentic and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The staff seemed to love working there. Don't be put off that they are a vegetarian restaurant, I'm an avid carnivore and didn't miss meat at all. Would definitely recommend.
Food is somewhat decent but their service is very poor. I was not even offered water and had to ask many times while eating my meal. Then some portions of the order were not even provided. The people serving were sloppy and absent minded. The other table had ordered some soft drinks which were not provide to them unless they asked for it multiple times as well. The special thali is supposed to have four curries, but the portion size of each curry won't fill a squirrel. Not too many complaints with the food quality though.
This must be one of the weirdest restaurants I have ever visited. Looks like it was a very old bar where they kept that furniture and added an open kitchen. By far that strangest decor of an Indian restaurant. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The breads and starters were rather underwhelming while one dosa was really good and the other a bit disappointing. Shame, really - the menu looked really interesting and we love a good South Indian restaurant. The service was fine though we were greeted by a rather eccentric waiter on arrival.
Very grateful that coriander lounge was fully booked otherwise would have never of found this place! I didn't get the impression that my meat eating friend was overly enthusiastic about going to a veggie Indian but was completely over ruled considering the amount of harvesters and steak houses and nandos I have to put up with and the same two boring meal options. In the end she loved it and we both agreed the Best indian we've had and the most different. We found the service really good as well, didn't pay attention to the waiters hair but am assuming we weren't waited on by this ponytail guy other reviewers are complaining about.
My wife and i stopped in for lunch, and were warmly greeted by the waitress/owner/manager? We enjoyed a lovely vegetarian buffet, and didn't miss meat one bit. Highly recommend it for authentic Indian food, it's not the normal anglicised stuff you get in most Indian restaurants. We will be back!
Food is great but the service sucks. I have been for breakfast buffet. they give you a tiny plate and ask you to reuse the same plate. they will not give you large plats even if you ask. no customer service at all. one more pathetic thing is, they bill you based on number of plates you take, for a kid if you feed them from your plate then no extra charge. if you take one plate for kid, then they will charge. but food is very nice and south indian will love it.
Such a wonderful place! After having a bad evening at another local Indian which I walked out of I decided to go into Melody. Such an amazing dining experience! Not only were the staff helpful and friendly but they also made me a dish that wasn't on the menu. The flavours of their food is wonderful and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very family orientated. If you want a meal by people who care I really recommend this place! Will be going back!
