You may not have heard of us, but we've been providing finance products in the UK for 20 years and work with some of the biggest names on the high street.

Story

Ikano Bank UK, established in 1994, today has more than 200 co-workers based in Nottingham. We’re proud of our Swedish heritage and strong culture, we always try to live up to our core promise of On Fair Terms in everything we do.

We deliver sales finance to retail partners including BHS, DFS, Harveys, IKEA, Karen Millen, New Look, Oasis, Tesco, Vision Express and Warehouse.

We actively contribute to the community, for example as the main sponsor of the Ikano Robin Hood Marathon, and by working with partners to provide responsible finance education for young people in a programme called Cheese Matters

Very inexperienced staff by the name Liam who’s claimed he’s been working for the company for 4 years. Not confident whatsoever and muddles a lot as he goes by th script. Does not know what he’s talking about and constantly checking back and forth with people for answers. Very poor service and most certainly a deceiving company who at the front of advertisement puts positive thoughts into their business with inexcusable reason to decline people. That I can say that surely as my credit is clean and with no problems and that comes from a mortgage owner for number of years. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Please do not make the mistake of choosing it as they make decisions based on their comfort and relaxation.

Very poor. After initial application, received a letter a week later asking for further documents including a paper bank statement, which I had to purchase myself from my own bank as I am paperless. Then waited for a month before hearing that no-one had assessed my application despite holding my forwarded documents and that I would now have to re-apply with a new claim as 28 days had passed since I had initially contacted Ikano for a potential loan. Despite the pleasant manner of the customer services representative, I am a little bewildered at the lack of action. Would not recommend.

Made a phone call to change payment date and it could not have gone any easier...... Very impressed with service

It should get minus 5 stars but I needed to give it star to write a review, in my case the Ikano Bank are trying to avoid dealing with a section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act I sent to them, their Customer Service Operatives are poorly trained and their team managers that I have dealt with have no financial or accounting qualifications and change their names midway through their calls. On the 23/1/18 I started a conversation with a manager that called herself Charlotte Connor and at the end of the conversation she had changed her name to Charlotte Bramwell, luckily I recorded the conversation with her and advised her I was recording her which is probably why at the end of the conversation she decided to give me her correct surname. Quite arrogantly she didn’t even have the file with her although it was a requested call-back and she even got my surname wrong, she attempted to avoid the facts of my dispute which is why I complained under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. This is not the first unacceptable call I have had with the Mickey Mouse Ikano Bank, in December 2017 Lauren Olson tried to mislead me about my complaint, in a further call made just last week a bloke called Jake, refused to give me his surname and worse still did not even know if the company he worked for was subject to FSA or FCA regulations or not, and he is dealing with customers on a daily basis. When you call, customers always get to hear their boss Dan (The own trumpet blower) Joy, and he endlessly waffles on about customer care and what he is doing for the local community and forgets self-praise is no recommendation, if Dan the man would like to review the recordings I made I am sure he can find me, but he doesn’t need too because all calls to the bank are recorded so the hypocrite knows how bad his operatives are. My advice would be steer clear of the Ikano Bank and any finance offered by companies that deal with them, such as their sister company Ikea and also DFS, because Ikano are a Swedish company and are NOT subject to the FSA and only partly subject to FCA regulations hence their badly trained staff.
