Lovely warm welcome. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed 3 nights in a large and comfortable room. They are dog friendly, all areas of the pub. We ate every evening in the bar, plenty of choice and well cooked food on offer.Rooms: 5/5
A traditional pub, clean, welcoming, excellent food, lovely host and hostess. Wide and varied selection on the menu and a small or large portion option. Rural location with inviting dining areas indoors and out. Plenty of parking. Wouldn't hesitate to return.Service: 5/5
We stopped at the Hunters Moon for lunch after our visit to Mintern Gardens and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both of us had dishes from the 'specials board'. Only wished we'd found it at the beginning of our holiday. Friendly service, great food, what's not to love.Service: 5/5
Super old fashioned pub opened early to give us tea. So ate there excellent menu choice, variety and quality. Plenty of parking and outside activities.Service: 4/5
Ate at the Hunters Moon pub today, all I can say is WOW!!. Food was amazing. We had the brisket gravy is to die for hubby had the slow roast pork belly followed by crumble. Could not falt it, even the coffee was the best we have had out for a long time. Service was spot on and people lovely. Highly recommend eating here if your passing.
Great food and drink in a proper pub. A warm welcome and great conversation with the management and staff. Ample parking too.
The evening meals where amazing and the breakfast were fab. The room I and my family stopped in well need a little updating, such a new Curtains weren’t following of the rails, the bathroom needed a little attention. The shower wasn’t great to say the least , and it just need a good clean and updating. Towels weren’t changed throughout the stay despite being used multiple times. Bedding wasn’t changed, the tea, Coffee and milk wasn’t relished regular, the same went for the bottle water! The bin in the bathroom wasn’t emptied regularly despite being full to overflowing. The rooms just need a bit more attention to detail as stated above to get 5 ***** from me!!! Just brush up on the basics in the rooms, as the pub its self is fab and the food is amazing! Also just brush up on your Cleanliness in the bar/restaurant area
I have not been here for a number of years, pleased to say the food was as good as I remember. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and I thought the service was excellent, the menu prices were also very reasonable. my only negative is that the seating is very dated and not particularly comfortable.
Ghastly service. Food poor and my friend and I split the bill for lunch. We each paid £68. Boys drank coke. We shared a bottle of wine. That was pleasant but everything else was mediocre. As for what came as Eton mess was truly a misnomer. Prior to going there it all seemed like it was somewhere to enjoy from reading their website. In reality a huge and expensive disappointment. Think school dinners from half a century ago. Coffee machine broken to boot.?
Just the place for a cosy lunch on a cold day. Homely atmosphere. Food excellent. Best beef Lasagne I have had in ages. Couldn't fault the place. Food & drinks: Perfect all round. Well presented. Tasted even better. We will be back!
