This is THE drinking experience in Sherborne. Flag floor and convivial atmosphere. 5 hand pulls provide diverse real ales in excellent condition. We'll priced grub.
A very busy pub, standing room only, but that proves how good it is. If you want the traditional pub experience, including friendly faces, welcoming bar staff ,wooden benches , dogs and a great pint plus a game of pool or darts this is definitely the place to be. Absolutely loved it .
Lovely proper pub. Great atmosphere, friendly service and great prices. If you having one drink in Sherborne make it here. Great value food at lunchtimes as well.
On the Casque-Mark Ale Trail although the beers sampled were good quite a few 'samples' were tried choices were limited. Had lunch with friends there. Simple food but well prepared and generous portions. A basic old fashioned pub in construction, layout and ambience and without pretentiousness. A good atmosphere also, for 'non locals'
Tucked away down a side street close to the great Sherborne Abbey....full of atmosphere this is a great place for a drink and chat. Good range of beverages, friendly and helpful staff. Full of character and surrounded by hundreds of beer mats paying tribute to past ales.....but always room for more.....enjoy!!

A real pub! Fantastic beer, loads of character and buzzing atmosphere.
Great pub with constantly changing great beers. In two weeks in Sherborne, I went every night with nothing else to do. I probably tried over ten different beers, all excellent. The staff are friendly, and none of the ales get close to £4 let alone over. That's why it's invariably packed. And the locals were happy to chat to this interloper. Two pubs in town shut at 9 on the two Mondays and Tuesdays I was there, because it was quiet. Nobody wants to go to a pub where beers range from £4.50 to £5 if they can get great beers from £3.20 in a pub that won't turf you out mid evening. If I'm in Sherborne again, I know where to go. Excellent place.
Great traditional drinking pub with a great atmosphere and range of beers. The beers change regularly, which means great variety, but also means your favourite from your last visit probably won't be there at your next! Superb prices too.
