I walked with my young family for over an hour to get to this pub to be told it was closed. The opening hours are clearly marked on the outside (even visible on streetview). It should have been open on that day. It was mid summer. Give them a call before you visit.

Nice greeting from owners. Comfortable pub. Only stopped of for some alcoholic beverage halfway through a cross country walk. Good beer. Nice.

Held my father in law's funeral here. Great setting (worth seeing the gardens!) and helpful staff. Recommended!
