Dreadful Excuse of an Airport. I am yet to travel via this "Cafe with Runway" and not experience the WORST staff i have ever come across. I will agree with some of the other reviewers - the staff here seem to think they're running Heathrow/Dubai/Dallas - absolute jobsworths. Their attitudes are appalling. Check in Staff, RUDE, uninterested, and they lie all the time. The woman that works on the INFO desk just near the security, has to be the most miserable, rude, and disgusting person i have ever come across. The first time i encountered her, i just assumed she was having a bad day. So the next 6 times i traveled i gave her a nice big smile and a good morning - only to be met with a grunt and a dirty look. She even lied to me too. I had a receipt that apparently i could claim back the VAT on some goods i bought due to no longer being a UK resident or EU resident (thank god). I asked her about it and was told, you have to stick it in an envelope and post it, hmmmm and how do i get my refund then? She snapped at me, well i don't know do i, i assume to your bank account. (there is nowhere on the form to even enter your bank details, plus i paid with a credit card, what was i supposed to do, write my credit card number on a form and post it to god knows where - yeah right). The Security staff are beyond insulting. Every SINGLE time i travel through, I'm told I am the "random Selection" which is in fact, a complete lie - They just assume because i have tattoos that I'm some sort of Crook. All the while there are backpacking stoned hippies walking through without so much as a second glance. Bear in mind, in the last 5 years, I've traveled via this place 7 times. Are you telling me that 7 times i am the "Random Selection"? Nope, it is pure, blatant discrimination based on my appearance and tattoos. I am all for security, and to be honest, i don't care about them searching me, swabbing me etc etc (i used to be in the aviation industry) - However deliberately singling me out every single time i travel is not random selection at all, its a case of if your face doesn't fit - they seem to thrive on the "power" they have to pull you over and seem gleeful about it. I will update again from my next trip - and I'll bet you any money, i will again be the "Random Selection" - The place is an absolute JOKE. They are also very rude indeed. If you are expecting your flight to depart on time - forget it. Even when it is the first flight of the day (and even when it was on the Fokker 70 - a capacity of just 80 passengers) - with no other flights arriving or departing - YOU WILL STILL NOT LEAVE ON TIME. There is always some sort of excuse why the flight leaves late - often meaning you will end up stuck in Amsterdam when you miss your connection. Its happened twice out of my 7, but would have been 4 had the connecting flight not been delayed as well. You bags WONT make it. I had to wait 5 days a few weeks ago when i got back to North America. The executive "lounge" is the worst airport lounge i have ever seen, with hardly anything stocked (they did have a croissant that looked about 100 years old - hmmmm no thanks) The coffee is vile and i almost spat it out. The cafe that you can buy stuff from in the main departure lounge has to be the worst food ever. Disgusting and inedible. Overpriced too. If you've connected in Amsterdam - don't expect your luggage to arrive. We've had 5 cases of lost bags IN 7 FLIGHTS!!!!! I truly detest this airport, however KLM have the monopoly, and its the closest airport to my native home of Hull. If the management who run this airport read these reviews, then they need to take serious action. They simply CANNOT be this oblivious of how badly run the place is. It needs renovation, and to be honest, if i took charge of it i would get rid of every single staff member, and put people into those roles who actually WANT to work there. People who can muster common courtesy, manners, and make you WANT to travel from there. You tend to leave this airport not feeling like a passenger, but more of a nuisance.

We arrived Humberside Airport early morning 6.00am, checked in two luggage on the earlier morning 6:30am to Akureyri, Iceland. Unfortunately, super break flight was delay until departure time from Humberside of 12:15pm to Keflavik and providing transport by road to Akureyri, expect arrival in resort 10:30pm evening. and we forced to cancel the trip and then got our luggage back in humberside airport. I was shocked that. Nothing seemed missing at the time until we got back home, unpacked and found my Gopro camera - rechargeable and x2 battery with the pink fur clutch bag were gone. Very disappointed by the experience! Our original schedule below. Flight No. ENT501 Departs from Humberside 08:30am Arrives 11.30am to Akureyri Departure date -16/02/2018

Abysmal excuse for an airport. Over priced flights, over priced car parks, over priced food; nothing there except security staff who believe they are looking after the busiest airport in the country. The flights NEVER leave on time - ran by amateurs. They could learn from other places like Doncaster Sheffield, East Mids or even Leeds. Surprised its still running. Needs a complete new ownership and staff removal exercise to make it a great place... oh and some places to fly to other than Aberdeen and Amsterdam. Hopeless - get the train instead and save yourself some frustration.

This is a relatively small airport it does not have many flight destinations but has a brand new hotel built there but it is very nice and I would highly recommend it to others....

Good if you want to go to Amsterdam take a taxi to the airport since the place is littered with CCTV. Also if want a local paper ect Grimsby telegraph the shop sells out quick in the morning
