Oh wow, this place is the centre of 3arth... Richard who invented or close to wing walking is the nicest person and it's all run as a family business... The wing walk company are amazing, spot on, on point, unforgettable etc... Thanks to Ollie for being the pilot of Zeus himself...
Very nice cafe for walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists and anyone. Nice inner and outter seating area. Really enjoyed Hot and cold drinks, also chips in a bun were awesome.
Wow has this place changed....I mean we liked it before but what they have done to the place is grand. Now we have given five stars despite only having a coffee because we were there way too early and it was the chef pottering about who kindly served us......and several others who took our lead. Good customer service and we know the food is good from previous experience and other recommondations. But it is the little touches that are so clever.. the wing tables, the bike chain stool and certainly the lancaster chocolate shaker......Worth a second coffee just for that. Much more relaxed and comfortable and I am sure heaving at a week-end, especially with bikers and bicylists. All staff were friendly and helpful which as were thinking of sending a loved one flying....boosts the old confidence a tad. Still an active airfield so sometimes there is lots to see...and hear as traffic control is in the museum. Fab views of both the airfield and the surrounding area and pop upstairs for the museum while you are about it....the crews that flew from here deserve a bit of rememberance. Check out both the memorial and the memorial walk. Why not become a member and support thier good work. Access is fine and flat. Good parking and well signed. It is slightly tucked away. For those not flying in, your satnav needs to be looking for the B1202/ B1399 which is found from Market Rasen on route to Wragby or other way round. Road works are causing issues so persevere..
Wet and windy miserable day brightened up by a visit, first to the cafe at lunchtime. Belly buster breakfast, magic, really fresh local grub, worth every penny. Sat looking out of the window looking at the rain when a red chopper flew past low level at 45 deg. Then disappeared, not literally of course but round the tower. Then it came back into view and hovered at 30 feet, lowering people to the ground and back up again, obviously a training routine. Meal finished and up the stairs to the museum. Informative and moving at the same time. Look at the sizes of the uniforms on show and realise that the air crews were just kids and we were a lot to them. So, all in all well worth a visit, family run kitchen and a proper local history museum that is free. Can't guarantee the chopper display though.
I flew in to Wickenby today for their Turkey Curry flying, as did 70 other planes! Great value cafe, just 80p for tea or coffee and a sausage bap was only £2.50. It was very busy but still friendly and quick. Good little museum upstairs as well.
Was privileged to be able to fly in Saturday 14th May, lovely airfield, lovely café, lovely staff, been several times over the years but weather on the day was beautiful. Had excellent lunch, the 'Lincolnshire Red Meat Beefburger' with proper chips was well worth the money & so delish
Went to the fly over , there was meant to be food and drink , they ran out of coffee and food . So badly organised . Just utter chaos .
Really enjoyed our visit. Knowledgeable staff. Nice food.
Did a charity wing walk for Samaritans, it was brilliant, staff really looked after everyone & talked you through getting on & off the plane. Has a cafe but only hot food till 2pm, cakes , ice cream etc & drinks available after. Easy to find also.
Pop here regularly for a hot drink and a spot of food. Staff always polite, clean, food is good quality and fairly priced. Seating areas inside and out.
