Recently left after 31 years with Hucclecote surgery. Rude reception staff, impossible to get an appointment, only offered telephone appointments with no time slot given which doesn’t work when you have a job, then the incorrect results were given to me, only got any level of service when I complained to the practice manager, the surgery shows a real lack of empathy and don’t seem to understand you aren’t calling them because you want to, but because you need medical help. no idea who my GP actually was towards the end after so many changes.
Always do their best, under probably great pressure their selves. Dr Lambert is a great doctor and I have real confidence in him. Thank you to everyone who works there.
Good docs I'm always seen quickly but do have serious health conditions...the rudeness peple experience isn't from all reception stuff just 1 or 2 giving then all a bad name
Absolutely devastated after speaking to GP who just would not listen. I’m glad I was speaking to them about existing condition where I already knew the risks because I had already discussed these with a GP. When cancer is a previously discussed risk and the GP at this surgery tells me that is not true but a quick look on the NHS website will tell me it is true…. Complete faith in GP lost. Did not listen and did not appear to understand the condition at all, would have preferred GP to have been honest as I’ve had before and just said they didn’t know the condition or did not understand what I was asking rather than just talking over me telling me the issue was me.
Excellent service from first call in the morning, to on call GP call back, to being seen in person by a GP at the surgery today. Most grateful. Thankyou.
The receptionists lack of empathy, patience and common curtesy is astounding; my family have all experienced this on numerous occasions. I appreciate that there are staff shortages through the NHS , however this is not the patients fault so maybe frustrations should not be aimed at them.
Best G.P's in the city and that's not easy thing to say and some special people at reception who go that extra mile and understand. Hucclecote is truly blessed to have such truly gifted and great doctors..All of them .Some very special human beings at Hucclecote Surgery and its a great community in itself and very well run. I hope they stay exactly where they are and not this proposed move to Brockworth. These chaps and ladies are an amazing lot if you give them a chance and realise they have proper procedures & up on the law. They do care..They do not make up the rules like the negative feedback earlier. They do do their best. That's just because people in pain have to buy painkillers these days...that are easily available. That is Govt from Head Office .If you cannot walk or get friends or family to help and are in that much pain call an ambulance. It's not the surgery's fault. Things have changed. Sorry but had to say it. You have all been so great there and the stress the staff are under at Hucclecote Surgery is immense and they really do care here. As soon as you manifest some grace and gratitude appreciation and understand the new changes....maybe you might want to give them 5 stars and not lash out. I think any generalisation and criticisms of this team of fine individuals says more about the person complaining and their lack of procedure... Of course it is not perfect or even right a lot of new changes maybe but that is a political matter... and a funding issue and set guidelines... If I had my way all health surgeries would be open 7 days a week... but they really do do the best they can here.. and I for one would be lost without their support and care over the last few years. I think they are all utterly brilliant from my dehydration on a run out of hours from legal issues and injustice as a. victim of crime and family matters and other ailments over the years...... they have helped me in ways that I could not be more truly grateful for in their time and manner and advice compassion and understanding served with a pleasantness and charm through traumatic trials and tribulations. A True Heart of the Community. A Special place this. No to the move. It will not be the same ! It's sad with Google Reviews that people lash out when unhappy and happy silent majority tend not to give a good review... it makes it lopsided the scoring and a tad unfair. I will have to say that the new muzak on the waiting phone is mediocrity incarnate . They could play Mozart of something with some scientific backing to make you feel better and no hypnogenically bore you death in the phone queue to some zombie state by the time they answer. Someone is responsible for choosing the call waiting music. It's dreadful. . I miss the days of quick answering to calls but you wait longer everywhere now since 2007. New reception staff lovely..which is a good step forward as there were a few rude ones previously . not effected me too much but I know what others and who they were talking about . Since left. Since Dr Hodge's who I miss a great deal left I have had a few other of the main doctors and they have all been great when I had dehydration from sports and some throat infection and other things they always got it right. So all in all I think Hucclecote is lucky really compared to some other places in other cities I have lived.. Cannot comment about the new doctors. Time will tell.
Good efficient service, 48 hrs for repeat prescription, the doctors I've seen have been great, I've never felt rushed, be prepared to wait a little while for this reason, I'd rather wait than feel like I'm pushed out of the door because my five minutes were up! I've never had a bad experience with the receptionist who have always tried to do what they can. I lost weight with a few other symptoms and was seen by the Dr, had the endoscopy and a follow up within three weeks.
Bad neck and so they suggested a telephone appointment when I requested an actual one. Perhaps the power of talk can now heal?? Also, when my daughter seriously hit her head they were too busy to see her also and this was years before COVID! Where is the care?
A doctor at the surgery lacked knowledge, compassion and gave me the wrong advice. I do not expect a general practice to know everything as they are not specialists however, I don't expect to be given the wrong advice either. I contacted the practice manager regarding this matter and she was very rude the moment she spoke to me, she had a bad attitude and lacked empathy. AVOID
