If I could put zero stars i may go for it. Such an awful experience from the staff there. No respect for the customers. Sending back and forth for several times just to open an account. Felt like slapping on my face. Will never go there. The staff need training how to talk to their customers. Disgusting
Useless. Enquired downstairs if I could withdraw a large amount of cash with my first direct card - customer service rep sent me upstairs where I queued for half an hour only to be told by the cashier that I should have called first direct and I couldn’t withdraw cash. No apology, no offer of help. There’s no way I was queuing again
Highly disappointed. Such an awful experience. The staffs are not at all helpful. I went there to open a new account but they were literally insulated me there. Now I went there many times. Every time asking for something new. Felt like they don't want me to open an account there. Pathetic.
Unfortunately it wasn't a nice experience in this particular branch. I tried to pay in some cash, but the machine at the front of the store kept on rejecting it - because apparently it was too folded up to count !? Very strange as the note was hardly damaged. So I went upstairs to cash in my money to a human being. It all went through, don't get me wrong. But the assistant came across as quite rude to me. I feel I remained very polite, but as I walked out the store, I couldn't help but think I was made to feel bad for not using their machines. Such a shame - I think I'll use other HSBC branches in future.
You can't withdraw from a First Direct account because their machines have not been "upgraded"
If I could give zero stars I would! Customer service is shocking if you get any at all. And whatever you do DO NOT USE THE PAYING IN NOTES MACHINES!!! It ate my card and my money and I had to wait what seemed like ages to get it back. Post office all the way in future!

Staff seems to be nice but this is the slowest bank I've ever been to you've to wait for ages to get their reply and if you visit the branch they'll make you queue for hours and then put you in pending list so that you've to revisit and execute in the same loop
I have had to wait six weeks for them to close an account - which they had frozen due to inactivity! The only way I could get the credit in the account was to close it - no other option given. I have made two phone calls but still no action, or action as yet. Very poor service - thank goodness my main account is with another bank!!!!!
Needed to wait a month to get a bank statement. Lots of back and forth with online calls and bank visits.
