I have stopped shopping online with Asda after 10 + years and have changed supermarkets. Appalling customer service. I have never ever complained in all that time until now. Shopping ordered as usual on a Thursday but for whatever reason I didn’t get it. Phoned the call centre to tell them. Was advised to reorder on the Friday which I did. Unfortunately it was a big shop, £80 + each time. Asked for refund of the Thursday shop and was refused on the basis the driver delivered it correctly. Did he heck. I am an 82 year old very disabled lady and you can imagine how upset I was to spend £160+ on one shop worth £80. I’m done with Asda along with several of my friends. An absolutely disgraceful outcome.
Back to school at Asda never fails to dissapoint. They are always very well stocked and you can find whatever you want. Everything is usually high quality, and will last quite long. The sizes go from starting primary, to leaving secondary, and shoes tend to be for the younger ones. They have reasonable priced garments and accessories for all sizes, slim - plus sizes.
Good carpark with plenty of disabled parking. Also mother and toddler parking. The other spacers have plenty of room also. They public toilets with disabled and child changing. As lots of stuff available here from cooked food to everyday items. They also have a cafe. Options and meal deals where the papers and cigarettes are sold so no need to go into the store fully.
All good apart from the lack of non self service checkouts open.nEach time I go there are only two operated checkouts open & big queues.nI don't mind going through self service if I have a few items but with a full trolley it takes so long to either queue or use the self serve & last time I did this my frozen food had started to defrost quite badly.nOther supermarkets seem to monitor if there are queues at the operated checkouts & open another one but I've never seen this happen at Asda.nI'm not the only one with these views as I could overhear other customers complaining today as the wait for a till was ridiculously long.
A very busy store, but as with many nowadays, there's invariably something they haven't got in stock. Fairly good prices, so always a bonus for me. Prefer my regular Asda in Spondon though as it's layout and size seems better.
