We attended Howfield Manor for a family gathering to remember and celebrate the life of my Auntie. All the staff are absolutely fantastic. Special thanks to Gobika on Reception, who always smiles, and is incredibly helpful and kind. The rooms are beautifully clean please pass on our appreciation to the housemaids who do a brilliant job, well equipped and relaxing. The beds are really comfortable, with crisp white bed linen and there are plenty of fluffy white towels. The setting is gorgeous, with lots of places to wander around the gardens and grounds, and places to sit. We had a buffet meal on arrival, and cooked breakfast this morning - all of it was excellent and a reasonable price. Waking up this morning and hearing the birds singing was lovely, and I wished I had been staying longer! Planning to return to this small, quiet, perfect place to escape and relax, as well as being an ideal venue for a special occasion. Highly recommend. Rooms: Spotlessly clean, beautiful linen, comfortable, well equipped, quiet and relaxing. Food & drinks: The buffet food was varied and delicious.
From the outside it seems very nice, although it is located in an industrial zone. But inside there is a lot of deferred maintenance. The evening meal is fine. Breakfast is only available from 8:30 am. The price for the rooms is really way too high. There are better accommodations for that price. Rooms: Outdated
Dined here with friends. Staff very attentive. Starters were fine , main courses not so good. None of us are keen on having all the food presented plated up. Would have been more enjoyable to have had vegetable dishes from which we could serve ourselves. Meat was somewhat over cooked especially the beef. All in all rather overpricedService: 4/5
Just had an enjoyable Easter lunch, food and service great. It's the little touches that make it a great place to visit, the manager runs a great team who offer attentive service The lamb was cooked perfectly for me, the potatoes crispy and the gravy silky smooth The bread and butter pudding with hot cross buns a great way to round off lunch
Having stayed here before we were looking forward to a couple of nights away. The hotel is full of character however since our last visit is now in need of some TLC. The rooms are looking tired . Although the staff were friendly, there did not seem to be enough of them. We had to wait at reception a few times to be seen and when were wanted a drink in the bar I had to go to reception and wait for the chef to pass by and come to the bar to serve. It seems the hotel has been affected by cost cutting; such as no mattress or pillow protectors and rickety wardrobe in our room with the handrail coming away from the wall down a steep staircase was a shame.Would we return….
Our stay at the Howfield Manor hotel was adequate, when we arrived the welcome was reasonably ok. The room was very small , but clean as you'd expect. The shower was powerful , but only on occasions. We got a selection of tea bags, coffee & hot chocolate & biscuits which was nice, bit stingy on the tea bags though. We booked dinner on the first night , the food & drink was great, however bit of a miscommunication with the order as we asked for only 1 main meal, however we were given 2. When we got to the bar , we waited for over 30 mins to get our drinks. The delay was due to the fact that only one person knew how to make cocktails, all staff should be trained to make them. Breakfast was perfect , no issues there. Everything was cooked very well. On our last night, we experienced more delay at the bar. We also asked for side plates & knifes to take back to our room, however the guy didn't remember after asking 2 or 3 times. Lastly , we were after some more tea bags, but another guy only gave us 2 because they were the last ones in the box & didn't want to open another. Checking out was fine, we were asked how our stay was which is good. The location is pretty good, its nearby to Morrisons & reasonably close to Canterbury central by car.
Howfield Manor is a charming country hotel set amidst beautiful Kentish countryside. Guests often rave about its peaceful atmosphere, cozy rooms, and friendly staff. The manor's elegant decor and tranquil surroundings make it an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Additionally, its proximity to Canterbury and other attractions in the area makes it a convenient base for exploring the region. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a peaceful escape, Howfield Manor offers a delightful experience.
We went for our 10th Anniversary and the location and room were both stunning. We had the 4 poster room and the garden view was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and always eager to help with a smile. Would definitely recommend.Rooms: 5/5
The room was lovely . The staff couldn't have been more helpful brilliant thankyou . We had on the lamb on the first night couldn't fault it . Breakfast was really good . Now for the not so positive the Sunday lunch we got in about 6pm and it wasn't good I did say at the time but no response whatsoever. I witnessed a few times a man with a plaster near is ear I don't know if he was management speak to other staff like poo . Not cool you need to sort that out . You have no right to do that infront of customers or behind the scenes. They work so hard they deserve respect.
It’s an old motel don’t think it’s like a luxury Manor house but it’s located good close to Canterbury, have a good size garden with very good breakfast abut the rooms are old. If you compare with the price and service it’s fair enough. They’re asking to share your credit card details even if you booked and paid online which is weird and not safe. They have free parking space. Rooms: Old Safety: They’re asking your credit card details which not safe. Walkability: They have a big garden Food & drinks: Nice breakfast
