Service was good...till I had an issue. I noticed these 'rust' spots a week after moving back home on completion of a major conversion and refurb. The kitchen was part of a 2 kitchens installed. I have sent a number of emails about this, and whilst staff were initially sympathetic and advised that someone else was experiencing the same issue, Howdens Quality Control did not accept that the damages occurred at the factory. No bleach based cleaners were used and the units were covered with protective film until the kitchen work was completed. My main issue is the lack of response, and no offer to visit the property to view the damage. They maintain cleaning products but if that was the case, why is there no damage on the any of the stainless steal units in the 2nd kitchen?!
Fantastic service. I regularly use Howdens and have always been satisfied but I wouldn't go to any other branch from now on. All the staff were friendly and helpful but a special mention to John and Richard. Tip top.
Update to my previous post. I think it's only fair if issues have been addressed to update my review accordingly. After some teeth-gnashing, a few conversations with my builder and revisit the branch to chat with the manager, both damaged units have been replaced. I'm now more than satisfied with my kitchen and my confidence in Howdens has almost been restored. Perhaps Quality Assurance would benefit from a more customer friendly approach than the current 'close the door on any issue and leave the branch to sort it out' approach. Particularly painful when this was nothing other than a QA problem. Anyhow, it's all sorted now. Definitely recommend the branch, not so sure about Head Office.
i am a project manager and mostly i deal with lots of kitchens, doors, floor coverings etc...most of the time it is a nightmare...In this shop there is a guy called "RICHARD". thin & kind bloke with lots of patience.....go directly to him and say all your problems + what you want. he will sort you out %100. after the purchase; he tracks it as well. calls, asks if any missing item..or if something went wrong. i have taken projects very far from southall branch but i still do call this man to sort my issues...its a good shop with good guys in it. good luck with your project...
I'll give 5* for delivery time, but all negative for the amount of wrong colour panels sent and the customer care was appalling. 1 week into my brand new kitchen and the oven stops working. Everytime i called howdens they told me differently and told me to wait 24-48 hours for an engineer to call. It came to a point they said they cant do anything and call the after care team. Managed to book an engineer 2 weeks from now after 3 weeks of no oven. Long story short, just ask for the after care number if you have issues with your howdens appliances, instead of being passed around for weeks.
Can be a frustrating experience. I ordered some edging strip three months ago and paid for it. First of all they ordered the wrong colour. Since they ordered the right colour, I went back in three times to be told it hadn't arrived and would be ordered. The last time I was told they would ring me when it arrived. Never heard back. So I went back in and this time I was told they can't order it because it's discontinued. Utterly bizarre behavior. What makes it all worse is, you are told this news by staff in a tone that suggests that you are mad, and it is impossible to have ordered it three times already. Despite the fact that I had a handful of the various documents I'd been given over the course of the saga. You just get blank looks and treated like an idiot for suggesting otherwise. It's actually quite unpleasant. To cap it all, when I admitted defeat and just asked for a refund, they would only give me store credit. Yeah...like I wanna shop there again.

OMG! You have no idea how frustrating the experience of buying a kitchen from these people has been. Didn't deliver everything needed, then they lost their paperwork and then didn't delivery everything again. Finally I go in a get the bits needed and then they bill me for all the outstanding items despite paying for them in the initial order. The product is OK I suppose but not worth the trouble. Go to Ikea.....
THREE MONTHS AFTER SPENDING £4.5K ON A HOWDENS KITCHEN I NOTICED THE WORKTOP EDGING PEELING OFF. I contacted the manager Amit who first blamed the builder and after persistence finally decided to contact head office. Their so-called QA department concluded it was not a Quality control issue WITHOUT COMING TO SEE THE WORKTOP IN PERSON - CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? The manager wanted to give £100 and give the same worktops without accepting responsibility. Completely ignoring the fact I will have to pay for new tiles and costs to replace the worktop + tiles, never mind the inconvenience of it all. KEEP AWAY FROM THIS UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. BUY FROM A COMPANY WHERE YOU ARE DIRECTLY PURCHASING AND NOT THROUGH A BUILDERS ACCOUNT, BECAUSE THEY USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE SO YOU HAVE ZERO RIGHTS AS A CUSTOMER WHEN THINGS GO WRONG!! ALSO THE SO CALLED DISCOUNTS ARE ALL FAKE. THEY BUMP THE PRICES UP ARTIFICIALLY AND THEN YOUR BUILDER MAKES A CUT. HAD TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT QUOTES FROM TWO BRANCHES. We also had other issues along the way – they had measured the kitchen incorrectly causing issues in the fitting and the door of the washing machine opens opposite to the main cupboard door. We didn’t kick up a fuss about those as we were absolutely sick of the whole process but thought I would mention it.
Good kitchen unit products. Got everything that a professional kitchen fitter look for. Parking not a problem
