Went today to House of Fraser to buy a large sized, light weight, summer dressing gown/robe men's Couldn't believe when I walked in to ground floor level what I saw. Was this the 'posh' store that was Rackhams? I worked there as a Christmas temporary when I was 17 coming up to 18 years. That was 60 years ago. It was Birmingham's answer to Harrods. Was it real, I thought? It was surreal. Plenty of men's wear on numerous rails. Plenty of toweling ones, which I didn't want. Eventually came across one in a lightweight material and 2XL size. Eureka! Price? It was a designer label, priced at £99.50. Discount of 20% off. Still feeling disappointed. In conclusion, they have a tremendous amount of toweling dressing gowns to move in sizes S,M,L to move. Please note younger men in good shape who like to step out of the shower directly into their robe. More mature men? I don't know what to advise you. Mr Walters
Great shopping experience. Last time I visited, Lauren and Elle were so lovely and kind. This Bank holiday Monday, Jacob, a lovely, young man, with a very warm-welcoming smile and approach, helped me make the decision in purchasing a coat, that I was unsure of. He was very eager and went out of his way to help. His customer service was amazing . Will definitely be revisiting again. Mo.
Massive department store and amazing bargain gems on the top floor! Everything very well organised by sizes making very easy to find!
Had more than 20 exchange of emails. Still unresolved. I ordered for next day delivery. They lied, it wasn't sent. I had to get proof from courier they hadn't received it. They gave me a code for some discount because of their failure. Which didn't even work. Total waste of time. That picture is apparently from house of fraser.
I pop into this store quite often as they currently are having a huge sale on. They have different stock coming in regularly. I have purchased several designer items for a great price with great discounts. There are items from clothes, shoes, bags, homeware, gym equipment, jewellery and much much more! They also have an extra discounted item department on the 4th floor with items from as little as £1! Only downfall about this store is some of the staff look miserable at the tills and don't bother greeting you.
This review is based on the House of Fraser outlet in Birmingham City Centre. Many of the quality items are not in the store, it’s very sports based discount store. I like the store but it’s not the same as many years ago. I went looking for trousers but found most of the sizes were too big.
Don't buy... if you order online its a £4.99 charge and if you have to return you pay the £4.99 again for refund. They've completely hidden this online and only until you have brought something online and you have to return it they tell you this.
The customer service of the store was very good until we left the store to have a security guard heckle us at the door,even becoming pysical and trying to pull the sports bag out of my fiancé's hand. I had bought clothes from the store and had 2 bags full, which my fiancé who had bought a sports bag from another store put in his bag so I didn't have to carry them due to my spine surgery and not being able to carry weights. Had the security done his job correctly, he would have seen that I had their store bags, which you don't get unless you buy something! When he tried to pull the bag at the entrance, 2 other security guards came running over to help us as the older guard was behaving aggressive and shouting at us! I told him to let me open the bag so he could check the receipt. However, he kept shouting and making a scene. We proceeded to open the bags and show him the receipts. The other guards apologised for his behaviour. One of the guards was at my store level when I bought the clothes and recognised me, even he told the aggressive guard to let us go but he was not having it. This was the first time we had this kind of experience, and it left us feeling very upset and angry! I am hoping never to bump into him again if I ever decide to go back!
I highly recommend House of Fraser for anyone looking for high-quality, stylish clothing. I will definitely be shopping here again and can't wait to explore more of their beautiful collections.
WHO HIRED SUCH A RUDE UNHELPFUL STAFF??? Despicable! I spent 10 min waiting in the empty beauty department waiting for anyone to scan my purchase. Staff members were chatting to each other instead of reacting to the customer and actually sell!! The first store in the world where the customer had to reach out and beg for someone to finally help him. Employee in woman department lashed out at a girl who was joining the queue just before the store closure. Apparently she was desperate to go home at 5.01 pm. Disgusting!!
