Such an amazing and polite person, Shafik is a complete gentleman. The service is impeccable. I have had my Rayban relensed with Hoya lenses and the quality is truly amazing. And also a very expensive pair of Louis Vuitton sunglasses again with top quality Hoya lenses. I can’t fault the quality and the finish. Shafik has always advised very honestly and been very clear from the beginning, and this is exactly what you need when you are spending so much to get top quality. Definitely a 5 start service and recommend to any spectacle connoisseur.
Super and efficient service from all at the Edgbaston Branch. Beautiful glasses and really great lenses. I am more than happy with my visit, my revisit and I plan to go back for another pair and take a friend who will appreciate the experience. Thank you soo much. I haven't been.able to see properly in just over 7 years. Now I have picked up my new glasses I can actually see. Especially to the gentleman who helped with my colour filter for my visual distress sorry bad with names, this is the first time I had a proper test and it wasn't hard. I now have the perfect colour filter that attaches to my glasses. I recommend Eye opticians highly, everyone is soo friendly, they don't look for fame and glory like my last optician did, they just aim to help people with their sight. I can't wait for my checkup in 2 years because they are amazing. I would rather rate them 10 stars, but 5 is the maximum I can do so it will have to do.
I had crooked glasses that needed to be repaired, unfortunately they didn't want to help me. Because they weren't bought here! What kind of optician is this? I know that it is best to sell it new, then it will be profitable!
You won't find this level of advice or choice when it comes to choosing the right frames for you. They have some great options to fit most budgets, offering a bespoke service too which is what I went for. Shafik knows his stuff when it comes to style advice. It's my first time here but won't be my last. Thank you for the help in choosing my first purchase of Cartier eyewear!
From the start of my experience with the Eye opticians, they have looked after me. I was having problems with visual stress, I am also dyslexic with traits of dyspraxia, and I felt Shafik listened and understood the difficulties I was having. He spent some time explaining why I was struggling so much. I had heard about tinted lenses and how they could help with my visual stress. After spending some time going through the tests, I found a pink filter made a difference. When I put the filter up to my eyes and looked outside, my brain felt like it calmed down. I even walked much more confidently. I suffer from depth perception issues, and walking on some surfaces can be tricky for me. I have had the filters now for a couple of weeks; they are great and have made such a difference to my day-to-day computer use and reading and studying. I also invested in new glasses, Shafik changed the varifocals in my glasses which has also made a big difference. The colour filter easily clips onto the glass frames, they are stylish and very comfortable.
Eye Opticians have completely changed my son’s life - thank you! They diagnosed his visual stress, something he had always struggled with and helped him find solutions that alleviated all his symptoms enabling him to enjoy reading again. Thank you to all the professional and friendly staff, we are VERY grateful.
My daughter has been struggling, with her reading. She was recently diagnose with dyslexia. Two months ago, we attended the eye clinic, for a stress test. The staff were brilliant, they took their time and assessed her a few times to make sure the colour overlay was correct and that my daugter and the school were seeing improvements in her reading. I am so greatful, has she is reading confidently and has moved onto books for her age. The nhs doesn't recognise the use of colour overlays/glasses but if your childs been diagnosed with dyslexia. I higherly recommend this opticians. They have improved the way she access the school curriculum and she is more confident in school. You cant ask for more than that. Thank you
I am delighted to give Eye Opticians a 5-star review after many years of excellent service. My son recently started complaining of difficulties with reading and recalling the text, with letters unfocused and jumping around on the page. I had always suspected some kind of processing issue but took him to Eye so that they could recheck his eyesight first. As his vision was almost perfect, Shafik suggested testing for Meares Irlen Syndrome aka Visual Stress before going down the expensive route of an educational psychologist to test for dyslexia. During that separate and very thorough hour-long assessment just a few days later, it became obvious to Shafik, me and my son that he does indeed have Meares Irlen Syndrome. This is a physical inability to read black print on white paper. Shafik did various tasks with him, including comparing his reading, writing and recalling abilities with and without several different coloured lenses. He was incredibly kind and patient and my son had a great time. The impact of using the colour that we now know he needs was instantaneous and my son's reaction was absolutely brilliant. He was open-mouthed and absolutely delighted, saying "I never knew reading could be so easy". He went from stumbling, pausing and being unable to remember what he had just read to reading very fluently, including a lot of challenging words, and describing in detail the paragraph he had just read. The positive effect on his work and his confidence has been immense and immediate and he is thrilled with his new coloured reading glasses. As his parent, so many of my concerns and queries over the years have been answered and I cannot thank Shafik and his wonderful staff enough for their expertise, kindness and insight.
