London's best record shop for jazz, soul and funk. Incredibly clean inside and a pleasant aroma. Usually vinyl stores have a specific smell of old items. This store is at a high level. The collection is very impressive!
Harv. recommended OZONE - Noel Kelehan Jazz pianist and band. Recorded in Ireland. Turns out my brother-in-law was conducted by him at RTE Concert Orchestra... many a time!
Went in for some funk and came out with some Ghanaian Highlife. Love this place. Great shop and great staff who totally made my afternoon with some incredible tracks. Thank you.
Very cool vinyl store. Packed with excellent library of styles and albums. I was there with a friend, who bought a brand new jazz record for a very good price. Recommended!
Great vinyl emporium but apparently all the good stuff goes on the website so save yourself a trip. Kinda defeats the object of a shop but such is modern life
Legendary record store in one of London's coolest areas. Good selection of Soul, Funk, Jazz, Reggae etc., mostly CD and vinyl reissues at competitive prices. On average Honest Jon's is cheaper than most of the other well known record stores in London. One thing to be aware of, they play really loud music in the store.
A London musical stalwart packs a potent punch for a pint-size. An eclectic and astute inventory may be limited but avoids belabouring the obvious, predictable and the ho-hum. Here, likely find the unexpected, more obscure and perhaps unfamiliar. Staff are approachable, sussed and pleasant. Premier league outfit.
Great record spot, good selection, and a friendly man who was working
Shops like this, a dying breed sadly, need all the support and good will passed on. I've been to the shop twice over timemy mother worked on Portobello Road for 51 years so the area is Ultra familiar. The same chap I spoke to was very knowledgeable, not patronising ,well priced, and some gems.Good luck luck and all the very best. You deserve it! Great shop!
This has the music which I dj with so it's always a 5 star for me. Latin, reggae, jazz, afro and electronic are all represented well.
