Great location and good breakfast but the hotel is in serious need of a refresh. Well, the guest rooms. The public areas are great and open, clean and modern but the rooms are outdated. And they had made the twin beds in my room with only one pillow on one bed. When I called for one more for the one bed they said they’d run out. So that’s knocked them down in the rankings. And they have a cute little picnic area but the grass really needs to be mowed. So really just basic stuff is slipping which is odd for a Holiday Inn but it does impact the review.
Modern reception. Friendly staff. Rooms are good for the price with good bathroom, beds tv, iron, kettle. Would have liked fridge though. Staff all helpful and friendly. Didn't go for the £16 breakfast though!! Rooms: Decent good rooms for price. Not luxury but don't expect high end for good prices Food & drinks: Good options. Pizza, sandwiches, chips breakfast etc. All more expensive than usual but convenient
I booked this room for 2 adults for an overnight stay, earlier the same day and paid £67.90 no breakfast included, per my request . The location of the hotel was fine, near to the M3 and close to a petrol station with an ASDA express inside. The service was also fine, when needed. The room itself was disappointing, firstly the bed was so uncomfortable that we both woke up with lower back pain. In the evening, we left for a cigarette and upon walking from our room, you could just smell weed from a nearby guest. This smell lingered for hours. The TV was outdated, freeview only and signal kept cutting out on the three channels that worked. The room was not very clean, the bath has weird marks and the bathroom taps were "limescaley", there was also a cobweb by the curtains. I say this, comparing the price to a tourist seaside town that had better accommodation for just £13 more
No lift. Plenty of parking a front and rear car park Nice area to relax in near to reception. Wasn't impressed with the pizza that was served in the dining area. Dough was undercooked and the pizza lacked any tomato sauce and slightly warm mozzarella. Chewy sun-dried tomato instead. Had pizzas from holiday inn in the past and I'm not sure if it's a recipe change, but it's not for the best.
Nice room, good location. Let down by the restaurant, we were a big table, however we had booked, and 2 hours after we sat down the final main was brought out, and it was not what my colleague ordered. Staff did try hard to correct any mistakes, but we had asked to eat as early as possible, as we were working early the next morning.Rooms: 4/5
Absolutely cannot give this place more than 1 star came today on a lego land holiday and the bed is covered in what appears to be human exrement real litteral poo and im not the only one to complain im afraid as other people on the trip have had to have the matresses replaced. All we were offered were a sheet to cover it up. The single bed was held together with cable ties again disgusting mattress. It is also so outdated in the rooms department it reminds me of a butlins trip mold everywhere evwn on the lamp stands . Came down for the buffet and it is all either undercooked or over cooked with not alot of options for any children who are autistic so be prewarned. If i were any one i would avoid this place at all costs and go to the Farnborough one its a million miles apart from this establishment. Managment just dont seem to care at all. Which is a shame as it has the potential to be a nice little spot. Rooms: Outdated dirty smelly Safety: Rooms are a bio hazard
We stayed in a family room, which was very spacious. Unfortunately, there was only 1 pillow per person, and when we asked for more, the receptionist was very taken aback by this and only allowed us 2 more. We ended up having to use the sofa cushions to enable us to sleep more comfortably. The breakfast options were good. It was value for money if eating both the hot food and continental selection. Cleanliness of the hotel was very good.
Room was booked through work, with IHG Bonus points added and payed for. When checking in the manager wouldn't allow me then points quote a "new policy" where business users don't get the points saying the policy came in 12 months ago. I've not had this at any other IHG hotel and I was extremely disappointed. The points are the main reason for booking a holiday in. Free parking into a dated building. Bar, Reception and Restaurant was modern and tidy. Room were dated and poorly lit and heated. Food and beverage team were excellent but again no heating in the restaurant. Several people complained and I had to wear my coat for dinner. I will never stay here again!!! Not to IHG standard and a real let down. Avoid wherever possible.
Went here for a 3 course meal and use of conference room. The chicken and fish was over cooked, the advanced order of the food was not provided and no notice was given in regards to changes. A vegan friend of mine was given hallomi sticks with their main, even though dietary requirements was sent to them in plenty of time to find out what vegans to not eat. Do not ever eat here. Food & drinks: Do not eat here. Your reply to this criticism is the same as your answer to a different criticism by another un happy customer. Your company does not care about its future.
As an IHG member, this is worst IHG hotel I have ever stayed inn. The level of service at reception was disgusting, with the employee deciding too be cocky and lie about availability. The hotel corridors stink and smell coming from bathroom was disgusting. No point asking for change of room did that, allegedly fully booked...quick search, oh there's availability. Complaint to IHG directly will be made. Food & drinks: Over done ALDI pizza for £16
