On initial sight I thought this was ok for what I needed. But soon realised it was not.nThe room itself had dreadful big stains on the carpeting, the radiator in the bathroom didn’t work and it was beyond freezing. The lights in the room are ridiculous, it’s all of them or none, couldn’t have a reading light on, or a night light, you couldn’t even just turn the bathroom light on at night, you had to turn on all the lights for the bathroom one to use. Calling room service was insane, getting through took forever as no one answers the phones, then they transfer you to the bar. Breakfast room service was completely messed up both times as they clearly can’t understand their own system on ticks in columns. The second day breakfast was half and hour late, I ordered for a specific time as I had to be somewhere at a certain time. This left us rushing. Calling reception or room service for that was awful as yet again they don’t answer the phones. I asked at one point the general manager for a breakfast card, he said yes absolutely I will bring to your room, later on as I left the hotel he said he forgot what room it was so I reminded him, he said he would do that right away, I returned back 3.5 hours later and it still hadn’t been given, I couldn’t walk to reception so called and yet again no one answered, half hour later I finally got through and he finally brought it around 9pm. This hotel is in need of room upkeep, more staff and more helpful staff. Dreadful paint work in the rooms and at one point our key card stopped working due to something the general manager had done and we couldn’t even get in our room. Glad I won’t be visiting again and wouldn’t recommend. I was promised a refund for my late breakfast which has not happened as the person who could do it wasn’t around, convenient! Woken up at gone midnight both nights by banging and talking upstairs, woke throughout the night by the same. I’d avoid this hotel to be fair.
I stay in a fair amount of HI hotels I have a diamond membership and this one is a bit of a mixed bag. The bar is nice enough and the reception staff are helpful and the food is tasty, and it's dead handy for commuting from, but the rooms let it down quite badly. If you're on the main corridor at the back of the hotel make sure you're on the even numbered side, cos the odd numbered side all you can hear is the traffic on the ring road swishing away, and if you're on the side corridor you're in real danger of freezing to death in the bathrooms and sometimes the rooms themselves unless you visit in warmer times. It's badly in need of a refurbishment. Don't think I'll be staying here again, because the bad out weighs the good for me. A shame really
Friendly service, clean rooms and decent location were a good start.nUnfortunately the room was very cold, the aircon/ heating noisy and inefficient & the plug in heater provided had a power cable to short to reach any socket!nnDinner & Breakfast were very poor & the bar team had zero knowledge of what they were sellingnnWon’t be staying again
Staff friendly enough but difficult to get a hold of at the bar when wanting to order food, restaurant only open for breakfast so for tea had to be at the bar whilst lots of people walking in and out for some sort of function room, I stayed here for 7 nights and ever night there was hardly anything available on the menu and whatever I did order was always wrong on different to the night before. The hotel itself is a real let down, dated rooms, stained carpets, faulty electrics, noisy running pipes or boiler running through every night, noisy doors banging all night and early in the morning, creaking floorboards from above, noisy traffic... the list goes on. Also the front carpark must be some sort of school drop off point because every morning a mini bus would pull in and parents driving in dropping their kids off making it a nightmare to get out for work.nVery disappointed and I won't be back ill have my company take this one off the list as I had very little sleep for 7 nights.nNeeds closed down and modernised with soft silent closing doors and soundproof windows for a start
Hotel was clean but looked rather tired in places - the car park area and corridor leading to our room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and had tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board plus a proper wardrobe, which seems to be a rarity these days. Bathroom was ok. Beds were OK. It was fine for a one night stop.
