It will be nice when it's finished. 

The website should make it clearer what type of room is being booked. The old room I stayed in cost £136per night, the TV didn't work very well and the shower was a trickle. The refurbished rooms look good on the website.

As a frequent guest at IHG hotels and a gold elite member I can say this hotel in its current state is not worth the money and falls well below the usual standard.

After making a complaint at reception I was told arrangements would be made during the day so I could move rooms. Clearly no such arrangements were made, as when I returned later in the evening the receptionist knew nothing about my earlier complaint.  However after some time I was moved to a refurbished room which is very comfortable.

Overall a very disappointing experience.

The reception and bar are lovely and the website advertise a lovely looking room. Only to find out only half of the hotel has been upgrade and the room I got was nothing like the pictures online. Staff helpful and though work booked me a single bed room they gave me a double. Breakfast was lovely and the pancake making machine made perfect tasty pancakes. Would I stay again? Yes I would and hope to see what the new rooms are like.

If could rate higher I would, staff are amazing and friendly especially with little kids, food is tasty and breakfast is brilliant because it offers contenental, full English, fruit, cereals and even yoghurt. If you are a highly respected member you get to go in the club lounge which offers board games, drinks and snacks all free. If you are not, don't worry because everything else is accessible. I have stayed at many crown plazas and hotels but this is different. It feels more homely and welcoming. If you need to stay around this area, in my opinion this is the place for you.

Booked a last minute dinner on Friday night when all other restaurants in Basingstoke appeared fully booked. The restaurant here was not busy so I felt apprehensive. But dinner was an excellent surprise.

Only stopped to use the EV charger, but in the time it took to drink my very tasty chai latte I'd purchased at the hotel (which I drank in the comfortable lounge area) my car was fully charged. Very relaxing experience.
