My wife contacted DWP to request a breakdown of incomplete years of NI contributions. They responded with a comprehensive list showing a number of incomplete years, so she decided to buy 9 of these which they suggested would give her the maximum state pension.nnAfter paying for a total of 9 years, she received confirmation from HMRC showing the value of her increased four weekly state pension amount and this also showed that they had only allocated 8 additional years of the 9 she had purchased. It appears that because she had received two payments of state pension in that year, they were unable to allow that year to be bought.nnShe then received a letter from HMRC to advise they would be returning the funds for the year they were unable to allocate.nnAfter waiting 5 weeks for the money to be returned, she rang HMRC to check why this had not been received. She was advised that it is currently taking 35 weeks to process a refund!!nTotally unacceptablennEDITnMy wife contacted our MP who was extremely helpful. Confirmation 26/04/24nto confirm a refund would be paid into her account within 14-21 days. She has also received and additional payment of £100 as a gesture of Goodwill for the delayed refund.nMany thanks to John Stevenson MP for Carlisle
I can see a lot of bad reviews on here but I have to say, my experience was good. I had to wait almost 50 minutes to talk to someone which wasn’t great bur the man that helped me was so friendly. He sorted my problem out within I say 5 minutes and was generally just really nice.
No stars as service is a joke. Just like the Post Office! Rang and asked loads of questions by an automated voice then after 5 minutes told all agents busy and call ended.
I was informed I am eligible for a pension. I cannot use the app because I only have a passport! Can’t call from the USA because the wait is so long and expensive
Impossible to speak with human. Only with ai chats and robots. Even email is not working as it was years before. So annoying as my account was scammed by fake income and I want to let them know. Shocking :
