Nice traditional pub in Kelham with an excellent range of mostly local keg beers and a selection of pork pies and sausage rolls for food. However, as it was a warm day, my wife had an Italian lager and I opted for a very refreshing Schneider Weiße beer. Hope to return soon.
Made my first visit to this pub in February 2024 after hearing so much about it for many years. One of the main recommendations was based on the choice of beers but, being coeliac, I wasn't sure if it would be suitable. However, I was very pleased when I was offered a list of gluten free beers to choose from - albeit in bottles and not on draught but maybe one day?. As they had a number of Wold Top beers, I decided to try the Marmalade Porter, which was nice and refreshing even on a damp and overcast day. Didn't have any food while we were there but having heard about the gluten free options since, I would like to try it on another visit. It's a lovely old-fashioned pub with friendly staff and a place that was worthy of its recommendation so I would like to pass on the recommendation. Dietary restrictions: Selection of gluten free beers available.
Visited this pub today , beer fine servis started good , then we were told to move away from the bar . The place was far from buisy, so we found this to be very aggressive . We settled for a spot outside on the road , but downed our drinks and left . The staff these landlords / managers employ do need to be taught some social skills , they probably don't realise, we pay their wadges, and probably don't care .....
Excellent pub as always, good range of ales.Service: 5/5
The Fat Cat has a long and distinguished history as a cask ale pub. And it is indeed THE best cask ale pub in Sheffield! Great staff, great selection of beers, great atmosphere, and a nice beer garden to the rear. It doesn't look like much from outside or indeed inside, but the atmosphere is just infectious and invites communication among the punters. Of course, pub food and snacks are available, too. Carry on the good work! If you're doing a pub crawl in the Kelham Island area - and you should - don't miss out on this great establishment!
Iconic pub imho. Just feels less special than it used to be but still come back on my Sheffield visitsService: 4/5
Excellent pub with large selection of local beers, including from the brewery next door. Great value roasts served on Sundays and local pork pies to buy at the bar. What not to like. Nice garden.Food: 4/5
I called in for a few pints as I had heard the beer garden was lovely on a sunny afternoon, and I wasn't disappointed. Really quiet and relaxing and interesting surroundings, I'm looking forward to coming back to try the food and nightlife which also sounds promising.Service: 5/5
Excellent Sheffield pub near the Kelham Island Museum. Nine cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I last visited including a stout. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered in the beer garden to the rear.
Original old style pub in what was part of Sheffield's heavy steel industry. Small rooms, tap room, snug types. Plenty of seating outside in a courtyard planted with flowers. Very good selection of beers Service: 5/5
