During my recent visit to The Hide, I found the food to be decent but not particularly remarkable. Among the dishes we tried, the egg nest and grilled octopus stood out as the better options, showcasing some creativity and flavor. However, the overall dining experience was marred by service issues. It was a busy night at the restaurant, which undoubtedly contributed to the challenges we faced in getting attention from our server. We often found ourselves needing to flag down someone just to refill our water or wine glasses, which is frustrating during a celebratory girls' night out in London. When our main courses arrived, there was a notable mix-up with the orders. The server seemed confused about which dish belonged to whom, which is quite unacceptable, especially in a busy restaurant setting. This added a layer of stress to the evening that detracted from our enjoyment. Ultimately, the lack of timely refills for our drinks significantly impacted our experience. It’s disappointing when a night out is overshadowed by service shortcomings, despite the potential for a good meal. I hope The Hide can address these issues, as the food has promise, but the service needs improvement to match.
Wonderful dining experience! Friendly, yet intimate! They have open dining as well as some hidey places for smaller parties. We received a small tour afterward from the friendly steward. Plates were attractive and flavorful. Get here before they earn their second star!!!! Unprecedented wine list!!!
Was there a few weeks ago to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was a great dining experience. The service was attentive, friendly, and thoughtful, making the occasion feel extra special. The food was was beautifully presented and crafted. Some of the dishes that I enjoyed were so unique as well like the scallops specifically. The restraunt’s elegant yet relaxed ambiance made this a memorable experience.
Hands down best breakfast place in London. Obsessed with their food. Come here every couple of weeks to check out new pastries on the menu- always innovative! It is pricey, but as expected in Mayfair. Service not always on point they seem to have a lot of rotation, but that’s just a detail and the food is worth it! Nice coffee selection with some interesting choices. Try it!
I was looking forward to finally going to Hide as it had been on my list for so long, unfortunately it was not worth the wait. The burrata came with no bread, overall the dish just looked lazy. The duck dish had pork in it so I couldn’t eat it. The desert was the only dish that justified its place on the menu. The dishes all had good presentation and the service was great but apart from the location having beautiful architecture, the food simply didn’t justify the price. For someone who has eaten at restaurants all over London this was a big disappoint to say the least. Ratings * Taste: 4/10 * Service: 8/10 * Price: ££££ spennt * Presentation: 8/10
Beautiful restaurant with great service only hostess ladies look so unhappy. Hungarian sommelier was so kind and so professional and some other waiters polish and Moldovan made our dinner experience unforgettable. The summer tasting menu was so incredible. The serving and interior are just amazing. So many details are in every act. In the beginning the music felt like somewhere in McDonald’s but later on I could feel myself great here because such music made this Michelin’s star restaurant even more unusual. I’d only recommend to place a cutlery mat or holder on tables :
Every time when I’m in London I wanted to come to Hide, as I saw a lot of people in social media posting about it. Finally this time I went there and I thought people posting because of the interior decoration specifically the stairs. But it is really more than that, the welcoming staff, the atmosphere, the food and desserts all were a top notch. Definitely will come back again when I’m in London next time.
Immaculate, delightful breakfast full of flavour and taste. We visited twice to experience it. Granola bowl was almost a field of fruit and flowers, eggs perfectly poached on avocado or muffins, bread and muffins excellent char on the outside and soft warm centres. Service was superb, and they obviously remembered us on the second day with a warm welcome. Expensive, worth it, and cheaper than most of the park lane hotels down the road... Espresso £7, Tea from £5, most breakfast mains between £15 to £25. Parking: None Kid-friendliness: Not particularly kid friendly
Everything was exceptional from the atmosphere and decor to the excellent service and great food, the scrambled with truffles were excellent, the salmon with waffle pancakes and granola were amazing, the croque madame was good, the avocado with poached eggs was the only note that bread was very hard, the French toast was not to my taste. Overall the experience was great and one of the best restaurants I have tried in London, little bit pricy , I highly recommend it
Hide continues to impress! My first visit was for my birthday, and it was a truly memorable experience. I recently returned for brunch, and it was just as fantastic. The atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. Whether for a special occasion or a casual brunch, Hide never disappoints.Food: 5/5
