Very good staff, good value and excellent service. We have rented musical instruments from Hickies for some time violin because as you child grows then you can size up the instrument without the hassle of buying and selling. We are now on our third violin, might consider buying the next one from Hickies.
These guys are absolute stars. I recently found myself in need of a very last minute piano hire and they really went above and beyond to accommodate us. Popped in for some guitar strings for my daughter's electric ukulele. Not your normal Uke strings. Young fella did some research and found the perfect strings.

Great customer service from Hickies when buying a new guitar. When I visited the store, Olly was really helpful showing me the various options and how they sounded. After mulling over the options for a couple of weeks I went ahead and ordered the guitar online from them - despite it being a couple of days before Christmas, Vanessa worked really hard to make sure the guitar was delivered in time for Christmas Day, keeping me updated throughout. Definitely recommend!
After 3/4 years of should I/shouldn’t I, I had my first ever guitar lesson with Ali today, and I can not recommend him & Hickies highly enough. Made me feel very comfortable and I was playing notes on a Fender within 5 minutes. Now I’m absolutely hooked and determined to learn to play this instrument, even at 57 years old.
I fully recommend this great place! Ben who with great generosity helped me fix my guitar issue and Sam who was there also. I found both to be incredibly decent and friendly! Thanks guys!
I’m not one to write reviews much, however the level of customer service I received in my time of need was so outstanding that it bears repeating to show my gratitude and appreciation. I was due to play at a friend’s wedding gig and the venue had asked for confirmation that all electrical equipment had a recent PAT test. It seems simple enough of an ask until you try and find someone to PAT test for you. Most of the people online deal with Applicances in bulk 50 to 100 whereas I was just a little musician wanting to test my amp. I searched high and low and was disappointed several times until it was the day before the wedding. I walked into Hickies again and met a gentleman called William and explained my dilemma to him. He could have just said “sorry we don’t do that here” but he went above and beyond. He took my problem on as his problem and did everything to fix it, calling up various contacts and looking up options online. He was even going to loan me an amp at one point! Luckily he found a contact and put me in their direction and they PAT tested my amp. I’m grateful for the extraordinary level of customer service I received.
