We had a fantastic experience staying at this wonderful independent hostel. The house itself is beautifully decorated and retains lots of it's original charm, it felt like a luxury hostel! Christine made us feel so welcome and we got loads of great recommendations from the suggestions in folders at the hostel and from other guests. It was warm and comfortable. The kitchen was sometimes busy but even that made for great opportunities to get to know other lovely guests. Great location if you want to be close to the ferry or in town. If I could give it more stars I would. Thanks Christine!
Lovely hostel, cosy and welcoming! I had a private room with a huge bed, and a shared bathroom that was almost private too Everything was sparkly clean. Location is great, very central + close to the ferry terminal.nWould definitely stay here again if I come back to Stornoway!
It's such a cozy and clean place and Christine the host is a very welcoming and friendly person. There's also a comfy lounge and fireplace, kitchen with ample supplies/cookingware, and a laundry room. Definitely will stay here again.
We stayed here with Haggis Adventures, and it was the best hostel of our trip. The location is perfect, close to shops, restaurants, and the water. But the main highlight for us was the rooms and the hospitality. Clearly the hosts care a lot and were incredibly friendly and helpful. They have immaculate bathrooms, we actually jumped for joy at how beautiful it was with its bright white walls and plants. The kitchen is one of the best stocked we had on our trip cereal, milk, oatmeal, bread, tea, coffee, and all kitchen utensils and tools, and it’s a place you really want to hang out because of how friendly the other guests are. We made great memories here, and I would go back in a heartbeat. Every other hostel felt like a disappointment after this one - can’t recommend enough!
Such a friendly place.. And such reasonable prices. Had a great lounge area full of books and games, free use of the kitchen facilities. You can tell they really understand the customer they have visiting.nGenuine lovely people and a great place to meet with interesting people.
