Stayed 2 nights for local steam railway gala. Superb in every way. Staff were exploited and friendly from the minute we arrived to our departure. Room very spacious, comfortable, warm and well equipped. Huge bed. Breakfast fantastic with fresh, local produce. Served breakfast one of the owners who was cheerful and happy to answer our questions about the local area. Really enjoyed our stay and will return next year. Great location with great parking and easy access to town and surrounding areas.
Stayed one night in very nice room overlooking the valley and ramsbottom town, which was around 10 to 15 mins walk.nThe staff were very pleasant and helpful and looked after us with a smile.nThe food was a very high standard and the menu was varied. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would return.
We stayed one night in three rooms due to a family party 20 people we held in the restaurant. Great place with good selection of wines and beers, with a good menu. Prices are relatively high, in line with the quality rather than area, dinner was £50+ per head. Rooms were reasonable value as we booked indirectly and they included a welcome drink from the bar, breakfast and our dog could stay for free.
Fantastic. Great meals, and the pub/restaurant was extremely busy on a Wednesday. Thats all you need to know. Marked 1 star down because of the two single beds pushed together to make a double. Not a good idea, it’s terribly uncomfortable. Rooms however are great with a free drink and fresh orange in the fridge. Great tv, and good bathrooms. I would definitely return.
Went for lunch. Booked in advance and got a lovely table in the conservatory window.n2 meals. Smashed steak burger with fries, very tasty.nFish and chips, good fish, but unfortunately, the chips were very tough, having been double fried and/or reheated, service staff efficiently delt with it and replaced them with fries.nThe mushy peas portion was poor. It was the same size as the tartar sauce, in a 2-inch diameter pot.nOverall good, excellent and efficient staff and a great location. Fish and chips were a bit pricey at £18.00 for what you got, and the burger was £17.50. Should both be around £3 less.nWould return but wouldn't get the fish and chips again.
