Blocked the pavement and crossing near Wells Hall School in Great Cornard so I had to take my kids and pram into the road while the driver was parked about 5 metres away from an available parking space. I get taxi drivers need to park somewhere, but parking up across a zebra crossing and the pavement is a little frustrating. Sorry I couldn’t see the driver nearby to tell them in person.
Only reason it is a 4 out of 5 stars is due to the approach one of the phone operators has when booking a taxi called on the 7th Nov. I always make sure to book one day a head if I know I am in need of a taxi, but the woman I spoke with on the phone kept cutting me off and hung up before I finished speaking. It might have been a busy night and she might have had a bad day, but it does come across as quite rude. Can not fault the lady I spoke with 2 days ago, she was so lovely even when I couldn't book a taxi with Hawk express cabs all booked up and whenever I do get in the taxi, the drivers are always so friendly and get me there with plenty of time to spare. No wonder Hawk express is used the most around Ipswich as they do care about the customer, but the initial contact is probably the most important part as it sets the bar for how you feel you are going to be treated.
They don't necessarily arrive at the time you book, but they do arrive in plenty of time to get you where/when you need to be. And on Sundays and New Year's Day too. Hawk Express: In your reply, you asked "What would we have to do for future journeys to turn these 4 stars into a 5-star review?" My answer is: if the driver had turned up at the time booked, give or take a couple of minutes, I would have given a 5-star review. After 5 minutes, I start worrying that the driver won't turn up. Alternatively, improve communications so that I'm updated with the expected arrival time of the driver.
Watched a Hawk Express vehicle white estate with a large number 5 showing above the rear plate, and with a male driver pass the line of traffic in the inside lane of the A14 east-bound, on Saturday morning, 26 November, as those drivers adhered to the temporary 50mph speed limit. Would suggest seeing a licensed vehicle doing an estimated 60mph-plus in a 50mph limit, which has obviously been imposed for safety reasons, is not a great advertisement for the company, nor does it demonstrate responsible driving from a supposed professional.
When i the ordered the taxi I was told it’d be a 5 min wait, half an hour later the driver arrives at the wrong place even though I specified exactly where it wasn’t difficult I’ve had to ask him to go the quicker way, because now I am late to my appointment, even though it’s quicker but because its technically longer I’ve been charger £20 for an 8 minute journey. NOT impressed!!
I have used this cab company for years, and they have basically collapsed under their own terrible customer service. You are almost guaranteed to have over an hour's wait, seemingly regardless of what time of day you call. The receptionists have hung up on me, argued with me and whined that it's not their fault. I have even been lied to and told that I cancelled a taxi that didn't turn up. Absolutely ridiculous place that needs to learn the definition of "professionalism" and fire their awful receptionists.
I needed a cab at short notice and my driver arrived in under 5 minutes. I received a text to say they had arrived. The vehicle was clean and tidy and the driver was very polite. Easy and smooth transaction. Will use again.
I got a taxi home from a long and busy a and e shift. My driver was incredibly polite and pleasant to chat to, just what I needed after a long night. His driving was very good aswell he made the journey safe and smooth.
