A very odd place matching the name I recall having a good drink with fellow students some time back.. may have been in their bar or near enough. But if you want cramped bunk beds and no privacy then this fits the hostel cliche to a t. Rudimentary communal bathrooms too. Some good booze and good pool tables. Good location. But best to look elsewhere if you arent too desparate like i was when i had a bad turn of events one fateful summer. #postbrexit
Great experience... nothing has changed except for the name... its funny when the WiFi pops up on your phone from your last visit... dorms/ community rooms are well facilitated with shared ensuites in room... housekeeping daily, keeping everything clean and tidy... only issue was price/ value for money due to Eurovision, so price was very expensive. This was the only negative that I found in my journey. Nearby activities: Easy to get to from Liverpool Lime St Station, St John's Shopping Centre/ Queens Square... Walkability: Easy to walk, but be aware that you are located on a hill, so late nights out can b a struggle. Food & drinks: New restaurant Pappa Peppinos in the property has opened... unfortunately, did not have opportunity to try... takeaway is in abundance around the block. Tesco Express is down the road within 2min walk to get supplies and cooking facilities are available at the property for those on a budget.
Great hostel! The decoration is really beautiful and the staff is so helpful! I stayed in a shared room and everything was very tied and cleaned. The bathroom was also shared and it was always impeccable, which unfortunately is not that common. The beds have curtains so that you can get some privacy and block the sun. Really loved the place!
I stayed here for a night and could not have been happier. Its a hostel, but not far off hotel standard room. Was super clean, and the bed was very comfy. The staff were all really friendly and helpful too, not to mention taking social distancing seriously. QStupid me left a personal item behind, and I called to get it sent to me. Luckily, the chap I spoke with, Junior, was super helpful. He's boxed up.mybitem and printed the courier label for me so its ready to go. Hats off to you guys!! Defo recommend, its in a great location and reasonably priced.
Good location, quiet, big rooms, clean bedding, super friendly personnel. The building is dated but it’s just a hostel, not 5 star hotel. In general it is very clean but the carpets need proper washing or replacing as they seem very old. Windows don’t open fully but it is for safety I guess. I would really like it if there was some table in the room to put my things on. I liked the lounge very much.
Fabulous, clean, no frills hostel. Family rooms small but immaculate. Perfect for those who just want to rest their heads in a comfy, clean bed without paying through the nose. Bar downstairs has a vintage shabby chic vibe that I fell in love with. Breakfast better than most chain hotels with lots more options and a continental feel. Will definitely be back.
The staff are friendly and accommodating. The building is historic and the bar/dining area is a very fun vibe. It is a very convenient location for arriving from the train station. You do get what you pay for in regards to the rooms. The rooms are stark, but clean. Good choice for a traveler on a budget!
Lovely friendly staff, great breakfast, cheap rates, good location. The rooms are a bit shabby but ok. And the cats are nice but they have pissed or scented on the sofa which is where i put my coat that now smells pretty bad. The smell is very strong around the laundry room too. I saw one up on the bar during breakfast where the cold meat and cheese are. Not very hygienic...
Very friendly. Very helpful. I was in an 8 bunk room but it was split in two. We had a shower problem but maintenance came straight away and fixed it as best he could but still only light spray. Kitchen good. Laundry good. Position good. I could walk everywhere and plenty to see. Cavern Club great fun.
We had a private room which was perfectly adequate, especially for the price. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good luck sleeping though. All the rooms have emergency lights in the them with a bright green indicator that lights up the whole room and can not be turned off. Add to that the utter chaos that was the other guests puking and passing out in hallway, banging on doors at 4am, yelling, singing etc and we never slept more than 2 hours at a time.
