Very long wait. Poor guy serving all take aways on his own. Food was okay, fish very dry and very small for the price. Our cod was £6 and chips charged separate, so it's not cheap. Place looked freshly refurbished, so still nice and clean. But toilet facilities were very poor and not looked after.
Had dinner in the restaurant. Very clean and lovely decor. Right on the beach. Food was lovely. Chips cooked in beef dripping. Reasonably priced and good portion size. Dog friendly and Air conditioned.
Visited shortly before the 4pm winter hours closing time. We were made very welcome, seated and, served, quickly & efficiently by the friendly restaurant team. The food was delicious and tasted great. Our group of six all enjoyed our visit. The knives and forks even have their own smart envelope along with serviette. Nice touch. Well worth a visit- we stopped by on February 1st- midweek.
This place could benefit of some thoughtful cleaning. We ordered the chicken burger and king prawns. Both dishes came with large portion of chips and with a small dried salad. The world famous pies weren't available. There are also improvements to be made on the service side.
Sat down at table, lady came and took drink and food order. Considering it is winter and not loads of people around, waited for drinks to arrive, but fish and chips arrived before drinks and cutlery. It's was nice, but the fish could of sat for a minute for excess oil could of drained, instead the fish is sat on top of chips which then the excess oil goes and makes them soggy. Bread and butter was small slices from the beginning of a bloomer loaf. Would go back and have again, for a second try.
Absolutely awful...Having been to this fish and chip shop over the years for a takeaway on my birthday its always been pretty good. Well we wish we would never of bothered. Service and wait was slow. We were told they only did large fish which was no problem £19.00 for two large fish and chips. However when I saw my fish I politely said to the guy serving I thought they were large fish his reply was that is a large fish..The fish was that thin and small I should of asked for a refund. So so disappointing...won't be going there again a rip off. I know fish has gone up in price but seriously they should be ashamed of the fish I received...
Lovely decor and the lady who served us was really nice. I think that a ten minute clean out front would be great. Also I found there sign about rubbish outside to be unfriendly and frankly your customers shouldn't have to walk outside your restaurant and down the road to find a council bin. You should provide one. I didn't think it was safe or sensible to leave chemicals in the washrooms. Finally, don't buy bread and butter as £1 for the finest piece of bread is insulting. The food overall was nice, just the practicality of the small plate should be reviewed.
We got there just at last orders fearing the worse and couldn't be more wrong! More than willing to seat us and then the magic started. Best fish and chips ever! Just one problem. So much food! I'm on the big side and as you see I couldn't finish! Wife went to the specials board and was rewatded too. All this and wine too! OUTSTANDING!
When I have a day out at the seaside I have to have fish and chips. It's not a choice - it's compulsory All the chippys had long queues but as we walked past Henry's my sister noticed there wasn't anyone waiting outside the restaurant entrance, so we went in. There was a board asking patrons to wait to be seated, which we did. After just a few minutes we were shown to a table and given menues, by a nice polite young man. The restaurant was clean and spacious and there was plenty of choice on the menu. My sister, our friend and I all chose the 'senior' meal which was - fish with a lemon wedge, chips, bread and butter and a drink - all for £10 each. A bargain! We didn't have to wait long before our freshly cooked meals were brought to us. The meals looked tasty and were delicious. We ate everything, except for the lemon rind. All 3 of us highly recommend Henry's for its food, cleanliness, efficiency, polite staff, prices and the ambience. We will definitely go back again.
Haddock and chips and Sausages in batter and chips. Piping hot, beautifully cooked, quite delicious and oh so very, very filling. Staff were lovely, helpful and quick. Not surprisingly it's popular venue.
