We visited Harriets Tearooms on Sunday for Mothers Day having booked a table for 5 adults and a toddler. We placed our order and the fun started. I was brought the wrong tea. We had ordered one Traditional Afternoon Tea (sandwiches & cakes). Two arrived neither the Traditional Afternoon Tea selection. Two of the Rabbits ordered should have had poached eggs on but neither did. We were left to eat the Rabbits and wait for the poached eggs to come in their own time. Dessert time our daughter in law order ice cream. Two scoops of chocolate one of strawberry. Order came with just two scoops of chocolate. By this time we had lost the will to call the waitress back. I know they were busy but really.

It’s a cute, small cafe but the quality of the Afternoon Tea is just average and quite pricey. The cheapest ‘Traditional Afternoon Tea’ is £17.50 and comes with the home brand tea, cakes, ham and egg sandwiches, and two small scones per person. While the scones are fresh and taste good, the cake was too sweet, none of us four could eat it. Overall not a good value for money.

Clean and smart surroundings but could have done with the heating on Sausage rolls would be much better served warm. Home made scotch eggs were expected for the price . Why are the staff not trained to serve tea with warmed cups?

It's always busy for weekend brunch. The atmosphere was nice and homy but the food was quite disappointing. The poached eggs in the vegetarian breakfast grill had wrinkled and rubbery egg whites. The avocado spread was clumsily meshed. Tea and coffee are fine but nothing special with the desserts either. Given the average quality of the food and a relatively slow service, it's definitely overpriced.

Great setting for conversation and delicious sweets. Sandwiches and teas were alright but not stunning.
