Excellent meal. Such a varied and unusual menu, a credit to the chef. Front of house were excellent on a busy night and the food was wonderful. Nice beer garden at the back also. I always come here on last night of holiday to finish on a high, and it never let's me down. Oh, and the throw back Thursday Arctic roll was brilliant tonight. Supposed to be for kids, but too good to waste on them.
Really good, nice atmosphere and served quick. Chips were good and a good selection of bar snacks. Madri beet however was very expensive, the same price I'd pay in London but in Hereford might be a bit steep. Other than that a great country pub.
Went for a meal here on a Saturday evening, seemed fairly busy, and 18 of us in total. We had heard that the service was slow, so had booked early at 5pm, but also because we had 8 little kiddos that needed to be fed early and we were camping at Tresseck campsite, a 2 min walk away. But the menu had masses to offer, the service was really quite quick, and the plates a great size. I had the cider braised ham and chicken salad, and it was delicious, a great size for the price £13 and lots of different yummy choices like stuffed peppers, homemade coleslaw and crunchy onion topping mixed in. Others in the party had burgers very nice, quite large; a vegan option available and the lamb really lovely, especially with a bright and zingy orange and parsnip veloute mash thing. The hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely outside dining at the back, under a grapevine covered pergola area, and a pretty beer garden full of cosmos and rudbeckia flowers, with a stream at the end beware the crocodile!! Great to meet the new Landlady and Chef today. All staff are friendly and the food is good. We’ll definitely come back. A lovely stop if you’re walking or staying at Tresseck campsite.
Really good food, well kept casks with when we visited Wye Valley bitter and HPA on, and a good selection on keg. Really friendly couple running it - and very tolerant of a ill-tempered 10 month old!
First time stopping at the Inn for refreshment after a fantastic walk. Staff very pleasent and helpful good range of beers and spirits. Sunday roast looked fantastic. Good luck to the new owners.
Fantastic evening dining out with my boy Harry, and decided to try The New Harp at Hoarwithy. Recently taken over by good friends Jason and Jo Hardman, wow! They have certainly nailed every aspect of service... the hospitality, wonderful venue, the amazing staff and the food is absolutely perfect. Well done to the whole crew at The New Harp and of course especially to Nick the resident chef who took the time to come out and talk us through his home cooked menu options prior to our orders being taken. The food was absolutely top class. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, very very highly recommended! Thankyou so much from the Grangers! Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent service,friendly people and fabulous food. A delightful pub by the river Wye and close to the Hoarworthy circular walk. A good selection of gin beer and cider and soft drinks plus a varied menu that is delicious and came quickly and all together after our order was placed as a large group . It has the added plus of containing a small selection of household essentials in the small shop located inside the pub.
Went for a birthday lunch and was very pleased! Nice garden to enjoy a drink and food with some sensible choices - oh and the plates are spectacular! Off the beaten track so to speak but in a lovely setting and the best bit... no mobile signal!!!!! Average price but above average food quality with friendly helpful service. A nice afternoon. Adam :
