The Happy Diner is a favourite Chinese restaurant of mine which is one of the better places in Bournemouth for the UK style Chinese food you would expect to find in London's China Town. It is a small and simple restaurant with no frills. You would not call this fancy or up market. However, it is not shabby, the furniture, serving plates and cutlery are all of a good standard. It is an honest Chinese eatery, comfortable and relaxed. The staff are enthusiastic, well mannered and polite. The standard of the food is above average and the reason I choose this restaurant over all other Chinese in Bournemouth and Poole. You will always see diners of Chinese origin here, a good sign that you are in the right place. Dim sum is served on weekend mornings, the restaurant is open for lunch and the takeaway menu is priced a couple of pounds cheaper than the eat in menu. If you want good Chinese food at normal prices then The Happy Diner is the only real option in the area. Enjoy your meal!

Have been eating at this place for years and it's consistently excellent. They offer much more than your average Chinese restaurant, with a very extensive menu and a good selection of Dim Sum. Excellent value too. 10/10.

Went there with 2 of my friends. Food was very delicious and potions were good. They were closing at 10 pm so had to hurry up. But food was worth the price. The owner was very helpful and had good knowledge of food. .. will definitely go there if we visit bournemouth again
