First time here since it has had new management, for a Sunday roast, and it did not disappoint the staff were amazing and the food was exceptional. I can’t wait to see this place busy again I would definitely recommend to any one. I’m very jealous of how the chef made the gravy it was delicious!!
I was down in Brighton and Hove for the weekend and we went for Sunday dinner at Hangleton Manor and it was fantastic, The food was incredible, You can tell the chefs take pride in what they make.nnAll the staff were lovely and we were seated right away, And a special mention to Elizabeth who went above and beyond and made our dining experience that little bit more special.nnThe pub itself is lovely, It had a great atmosphere but wasn't rowdy a perfect mix. It also had a lovely outside area in which we stayed to sit in the sun and finish our drinks.nnOn the whole our dining experience at Hangleton Manor was overwhelmingly positive, and i would like to give all the chefs and the staff a huge thank you for making it such a pleasant time. I will certainly be back in the future, I may need to move to Hove just to have that Pork belly every week.
Since the change of management, the food has improved massively. We’ve had a ‘normal’ lunch which was lovely & just had a Sunday roast. It was hot, well cooked and delicious. Staff are brilliant & always on hand. Would definitely recommend.
I’m a local and have many fond memories of this pub growing up. In recent years, I’ve enjoyed bringing my own family here too, so it’s disappointing to be leaving this review.nYesterday, I witnessed the staff treat another family in a way that I found completely unacceptable. Without any warning or polite conversation, they very aggressively told off the children, who looked to be around five years old, before getting into an argument with the parents.nFrom what I could gather, the issue was that the children were eating sweets that hadn’t been purchased from the pub. However, the pub doesn’t sell sweets, and I could clearly see that the family had bought plenty of drinks. The children were playing happily with my own children, were well behaved, and weren’t causing any disturbance. Nothing I witnessed justified the rude and confrontational way the staff approached them.nSadly, the staff have often come across as unfriendly and miserable, but I’ve continued to visit because I enjoy spending time in the garden with my family. After witnessing how this family was treated, I won’t be returning. Judging by the conversations I had afterwards, many other customers who witnessed the incident felt exactly the same.nIt’s such a shame to see a pub that has been part of the local community for so many years decline in this way.
We’d heard a new head chef joined Hangleton Manor last week and were keen to try it for ourselves—so we booked in for a Sunday roast. I’m delighted to say it exceeded all expectations.nThe food was outstanding. I chose the beef while my husband had the pork belly, and both dishes were cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, the potatoes beautifully crisp, and the meat tender and full of flavour—everything you hope for in a top-quality roast.nDespite being more than satisfied, we couldn’t resist sharing a cheesecake for dessert, and it was the perfect finish: perfectly balanced, creamy, and not overly sweet.nThe service was equally impressive—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout. It made for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxed afternoon.nA fantastic experience from start to finish—we’ll definitely be back.
