Fantastic service. We visited on Father's Day and despite being very busy, the staff were superb. Food was quick really quick! and delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked and my wife said the arancini packed full of flavour. Many thanks to Heather and the team who were all excellent.
Me and my partner came here and brought our parents to meet for the first time! The location is beautiful, the decor inside is lovely modern and cosy. And the food was fantastic, everything was so tasty and well presented. The cost is reasonable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming they even cooked us an extra sausage for the dog! We visited on a Tuesday afternoon so naturally it was very quiet only 2 tables occupied I think, the only thing that would make this pub a little better would be some background music! But otherwise it was perfect thank you!
Really lovely pub! Super nice interior and garden space. Great food and service was really friendly. Being a Greene King chain, it had a good variety of options and good service on a Sunday. 19/5/24 Me and my partner was on us way back home from donnington British superbike and was looking for a nice country pub to have some food/drink. Seen this pub never been in before so we gave it a go. So glad we did the food was lovely the staff/ Tilda was friendly and polite really nice pub with a nice country feel to it would definitely recommend it and im sure we'll go back
We headed to The Hanging Gate after scanning the pubs within easy reach of our base in Whatstandwell. The photos looked great and the comments very positive, so we were confident we wouldn't be disappointed. In fact, it was a lovely evening, with delicious food two imaginative and attractively presented salads, well-prepared cocktails and a lively playlist of old and new songs, from the LA'S to Harry Styles. Service was great, both from the friendly, welcoming manager and from Grace, who was delightful, with the cheeriest of smiles and a lovely manner. We'll certainly be paying another visit here when next in Derbyshire!
Family of 5 visted for Saturday afternoon lunch, Fallon served us and was fantastic and very attentive. Food was brill, would defo recommend the honey pot dessert!

We came here on a rainy Saturday whilst camping in the dales. We brought our dog Dwight, and spent 3 hours here eating and waiting for our children to join us, everything was amazing. It’s a good job we don’t live close to this pub, else we’d never do anything else. We had such a lovely meal here, the food was incredible, the service was second to none. Will 100% always recommend

Had a lovely family Sunday lunch. Food was very tasty. Staff very friendly. There were a few items missing from the plate so not quite five stars. Crackling from the trio and the baked apple from the pork dish, that we weren’t made aware off. Also as a beer lover although there were three ales on tap at the time they were all corporate and given the lovely location in the Peaks I would have liked a local ale choice. Overall though lovely lunch and pub. Parking: Loads of parking available. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly. Had our under 1 with us for lunch. Highchair was provided and very friendly staff. Was able to bring our own baby food.
