Hampton Inn Table Table

Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. The food was hot. However, there was a long wait on food because there were a couple of large groups in. I am surprised we weren't told this when we booked by phone the previous day. The food was okay. My veggie lasagne was tasty (you get a lot of bland or over-seasoned food when you don't eat meat) but my son's kids' meal came with beans when we asked for peas, and my husband's beef stew had 3 cubes of meat in it. I know it's a chain restaurant but it could be a lot better.

We were tired and hungry. The sign said wait here to be seated. During the first 8 minutes staff passed us without any greeting. A young lady obviously known to the staff entered the kitchen where she could be seen through the half glazed door tossing her long blonde hair about. Hygiene? Then a barman said he would be with us in a minute. Six more elapsed and we decided that if it took that long to fail to greet us we might forget what we order before anything came. We left hungry and tired.

To suggest in the description that this is a “Stylish chain pub serving classic international favourites” is at best disingenuous and at worst a blatant lie. Stylish chain pub = generically furnished with no charisma and in need of updating Serving = well I guess so... eventually. We waited an hour and 35 minutes for the classic, chef taxing prawn cocktail and a microwaved lasagne Classic international favourites = haha no nation on earth would claim to own these as a favourite. And this is my polite assessment of this establishment. Poor service by disinterested staff ambling their way through a poorly executed menu at a snails pace. I’ve given it one star because it’s the only way I could get to write a review. I have to go back for work next weekend. I’ll be eating elsewhere. I can’t deal with that farce again. I like to end on a positive. I felt great when I left.

Breakfast staff friendly and helpful. We had the full cooked buffet breakfast, food was excellent and was really good value for money. A regular visitor now.

Booked a table but when we arrived table hadn't been actually been booked by staff. When we got our table, we got drinks and ordered food. Starter took 50 mins to arrive and main took 1hr 40mins from ordering. When the clearly microwaved lasagne finally arrived it was watery and tasteless. Unacceptable delay almost made us late for work. The manager described as the charisma-less bald bloke was totally unapologetic, not even bothered and didn't say a word in response to our concerns. Staff didn't seem to care either. Excuse of "We're busy today" doesn't cut it when at least 10 tables are free. Abandon hope all ye who enter here. Worst restaurant I've ever been to with equally useless staff. If I could give it no stars, I would.
