On our hunt for a Sunday roast found this place. Good little pub. it was quiet when we were they but the food and drink were excellent
Beer is good. Food is okay. They host a music open night which gives this place the vibe it has. If you donot wanna sit infront of the band then there is ample space behind the bar which goes up to a stream of water.
On the whetherspoons scale this ranks fairly high up. Decent food and the pints were cold. I did notice that the staff were either particularly busy or just didnt want to deal with anyone who wanted to order a drink at the bar. Bar staff shouldn't have to leave the bar to go sort something else out every minute. Especially if theres only one of them.
Lovely food, the Salt & Pepper Squid was cooked perfectly as was the Lamb Shank Roast, both were very tasty. The service needs a bit of tweaking, asking if people had finished their food is good, but check on drinks as well. They missed out on a couple of rounds. Overall it was a really nice night, food was great and the atmosphere picked up when the live music kicked in.
Had a lovely vegetarian sunday dinner. It looked and tasted brilliant. Big portions, yummy gravy and well worth it. Will deff be back again and would reccomend this place. Staff were polite and pub was clean. Nice place to spend time in.
