They did an MOT but missed a dangerous tear to my tire and passed it anyway. Then when they sent me 0.5 miles down the road to a garage where I had my service done to fix an oil leak which they say should've been spotted during the service that garage pointed out the missed tear in the tire. Halfords said it must've happened over the 0.5 distance between them and the other garage because the inner fibres were still white. So they refused any discount on the MOT due to what was most likely their mistake. Later that day I remembered going over a huge pothole with that tire on my rush to get to my appointment with Halfords the previous morning where I left my car with them for parts, so I can only assume that it must've been caused before they did the MOT. As the fibres would've still been white due to minimal road contact. When in doubt over such small sums of money the company should put the customer first and their egos second.
I had an appointment to check the brakes. The owner valued the replacement at over £ 800, he did not want to recognize my right to the purchased service Brakes 4 life. It was absolutely unpleasant to say that when you buy an expensive car you have to pay a lot for repairs. I asked for a quote by e-mail and I added that I would check the price in a different garage. He promised to send a valuation by e-mail, but in the meantime I got an e-mail that I would cancel the visit! Strange as I all ready was there! It seems to me that my car was not checked, and the valuation was given on the basis of the car brand and assessment of my financial possibilities. Be aware visiting this garage!!! I was use it per last 8 yers with all my cars ,but never go back again!
I had a MOT carried out yesterday. All done in 45 minutes. Kept up to date on progress along with friendly staff to occupy you whilst waiting. Thanks , will be using next year
Popped down today for a bulb that had gone in my brake light in my Citroen c1. Didn't charge me for the bulb or the assist in changing it. Excellent service really friendly blokes as well
Quick MOT, one big issue, they could not check rear seat belt due to child car seat being an obstruction. They failed to mention that they tried to take car seat out and did not clip it back on to the chassis. I put my grandson in the car the following day only to find that the car seat was not put back at all. Luckily we noticed before I drove off. Halfords please advise staff to double check. Things could have gone so wrong.
Very rude new owner. Not recomended. We serviced our cars there for many years. Not anymore. Halfords is selling their brakes for life offer then the staff is lying about break pads replacement. Thier argument is 'Tou drive expensive car so do not expect cheap parts'. Never again.
Not allowed to give 0 so had to award 1 star. I attended Halfords Autocentre Halesowen to have my front brake pads changed for free because I had Halfords Brakes 4 Life. However, the Autocentre refused to change my brake pads unless I had my front right brake caliper replaced, which they claimed was faulty. I was shocked and told them I wanted a second opinion. I arranged for my car to be inspected at another local garage, and they could find no problem with my front right brake caliper. Because Halfords had refused to change my front brake pads, I was left with no alternative but to pay the garage to change them. Hence, I had to pay another garage to change my brake pads, which should have been changed for free with Halfords. Consequently, I feel cheated and now wonder whether Halfords Brakes 4 Life is nothing more than a trick to force customers into paying for other repairs and work that are unnecessary.Service: Brakes
On line booking for two wheel balance, now a gripe here is the booking system not the garage or staff, booking showed 3 slots available I booked 11:30, arrive and I'm told it's booked for 5pm, well that ain't happening I've popped out of work. The guy on reception got me looked at and gone within half hour, appreciated and thanks. Good, helpfull crew. Outside parking / waiting can be a bit chaotic.
I was pleased with the service. I left car over here and was able to collect in the evening. If finishing late the ESSO petrol station next will keep the key in time being I am happy getting M O T done here
My daughters aircon was in serious need of a service and re-gassing. I called up and they got me in straight away, and even when I was late due to meeting running over they still managed to fit her car in and get it all sorted and running perfect again. The staff were friendly and could not do enough.
