Just paid my first visit here after Halfords St John's store couldn't change DLR bulb on Audi A1 and I couldn't either. Staff extremely professional, friendly and helpful on arrival. Changed the bulb with expertise. Great service. Would definitely head here again and recommend... thanks guys!!
AVOID at all costs MY CAR WAS FINE BEFORE THEY "FIXED" IT!!!!! Had my car serviced and had spark plugs and breaks done. Drove away to find the car was misfiring. Took it back spark plugs were faulty. They replaced them later that day got up to 40mph again cars misfiring called them nothing they can do until the Monday as it was Easter weekend. Took it back they replaced my spark plugs as again they were faulty. They refunded me £40. Fast forward less than a week drove to chessington and my engine service now light came on and car went into limp mode. Rang them Took it back no faults they could find told to come back when light comes on again. Took it back again with light on still no fault found so they changed my spark plugs again. Light still came back on so was referred to a Ford specialist they happily "rang" around for me. How ever when I called a place I got booked in for 2 days later however halford told me that ford couldn't get me in until mid May this was april but the Northampton one could. I explained I already have an appointment. He apologised and refunded me for the sparkplugs. Ford looked at my car and found a coil had burnt our due to the misfiring costing me £220. I contacted halfords who said send the invoice over we will refund. Less than a week later the light came back on and Ford found that some sensors had also been damaged due to the misfiring caused by the spark plugs another £120 again halfords said they would refund. This refund I recieved straight away mid April. However I am still waiting on the £220 to be refunded I have emailed multiple times and now being ignored. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT A CAR THAT WORKS AND ISNT FITTED WITH FAULTY PARTS.
Went here to get a major service. They said to me they completed the works and had no issues. After checking my car, they didnt even change the air filter. I had dashcam, checked dashcam, they didnt take the car for a test drive either as listed on their to do list. Makes me wonder if they even did the works at all. Would not go here for a service again and would tell others to avoid halfords in the future for any work.
Paid £285 for a major service. Dropped the car off at 11:30, had a call at 4pm saying the report was ready. When I collected the car my engine light was still on and 1 thing they said they had done wasn't on the report so I'm sceptical that they did the full list included in the major service
I took my car today to change four Goodyear tyres I had purchased online. Whilst i dropped the car, I was called and told they had delivered the wrong tyres Avon but I accepted to have the Avon tyres instead. The back left tyre was almost brand new Continental. This had been kept as spare for which i put on yesterday after my original tyre went flat. I specifically asked for this wheel/tyre to be put in my boot and be as replacement and the four new tyres be put on. I was asked to collect the car only to check that in the boot i still had the flat tyre and not changed. Even worse, when I asked where the tyre was they had taken off they advised that it was not a Continental but a Khumo Tyre? This is terrible stealing - Please do not use them. Case Number 22585998 already submitted, proof of original tyres purchase as requested - No communication/updates from Halfords.
Nice staff. Just not very efficient. One problem after another, after another, after another. Just for a simple number plate to be made up and then the fitting. There was not one part of the process that went smoothly. From start to finish.
Good service x2 new tyres fitted within the hour. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would have given 5 stars as was under the impression as I had booked an appointment they would be done straight away. Tyres are good quality
My App would not let me complete the purchase of 2 tyres , called the helpdesk, who suggested I go to the garage and show them. Was then told it would take two weeks to order the tyres ,disappointed after signing up with Halfords for a year to acquire the discount on the tyres.
Extremely helpful and efficient team. I booked for a wheel balance, easy and quick drop off and then great communication throughout. They checked my wheels and unfortunately has a buckled alloy, so they called me and explained the situation and that they could not complete the balancing, but gave some helpful info on how to get sorted. The representative was very helpful, refunded me instantly and extremely impressed by the service. Thank you!
Approached these guys twice refarding my breaks because they were scraping. First time they said they were "fine" but also mentioned they didn't have the tools at had to take my wheel off to check them properly. I should have seen the red flags there. I went back a month later for my MOT and mentioned the breaks again because they were getting worse, to which again they said they were fine. At this point I didn't believe them at all. It had been well over a month now and I had asked them twice so I decided to get a second opinion at another mechanic...low and behold, the breaks are RUINED and ontop of that parts of the break system is broken completely due to them being used for so long. If Halfords has taken my word and actually checked them properly and not lying and saying they did check them when in probability they probably didn't want the hassle of having to take off my wheels, I wouldn't be in this predicament. Thanks for nothing.
