Story

Hakkasan is an upscale, modern Chinese restaurant in the West End of London, England, at Hanway Place. Now a slew of restaurants in London and elsewhere, it was founded in 2001 by Syra Khan and Alan Yau, also behind the Wagamama Japanese restaurant chain and the newer Yauatcha restaurant, also in London. The multimillion-pound interior at the original Hakkasan was designed by the French designer Christian Liaigre who fused distinctly modern aesthetic with traditional Chinese motifs.Hakkasan has opened branches in Miami, Mumbai, New York City, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Abu Dhabi, Beverly Hills, Shanghai, Dubai, and Doha. In 2013, Hakkasan formed a strategic partnership with Angel Management Group creating their first nightclub located at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The five-story 80,000 square foot venue holds close to 7,500 patrons and boasts performers such as Calvin Harris, Nervo and Tiësto. In april 2017, a new Hakkasan restaurant named Ling Ling will open at Aker Brygge in Oslo, Norway.

We had one of the set menus which was massive amounts of food for two people but amazingly good food too. Exceptional actually. Very expensive too. Service was excellent. Definitely not the place to go if you are wanting to lose weight. Almost impossible to understand anyone eating it all. We had the dessert course to go. The restaurant was also super busy and crowded. You might like the high energy but also not the place if you wanted a quiet conversation.

What can I say. Absolutely stunning food and great atmosphere in this place. Definitely for a special occasion. The food was delightful and exquisite, cooked to perfection all dishes with the perfect detailing and condiments to suit. If you like oriental food then this place must be visited great lunch. Make sure you book your table before as they are constantly booked up.

One of the best culinary experiences I’ve ever had. Well deserving of their Michelin star. Service, atmosphere, and of course food were absolutely fantastic. We ordered the Shou package as recommended by the server. They did not skimp on the portions. Best duck I’ve ever had.Recommended dishesCrispy Duck Salad

This is a great place to come for a celebratory dinner! They have a lovely vegan set menu the chrysanthemum menu - the starters are absolutely amazing. Their dim sum is so delicious. The set menu is for two people and the portion sizes are really good - it’s very filling and delicious. The staff are super friendly and give really good recommendations for what drinks will pair well with the food!

Great food! The duck here is absolutely delicious, I'm a huge fan of duck and they definitely didn't disappoint. The desert was very delicious. Loved the vibe and interior. The staff were great. Expensive. Definitely recommend!

Hakkasan promises a lot and although objectively good, fails to hit the standards necessary for a restaurant of this magnitude. Personally I am definitely a big fan of East Asian cuisine and I was very much looking forward to trying out Hakkasan as it would be my first East Asian Michelin starred restaurant. On arrival I was greeted with very friendly staff and a deeply atmospheric facility. The Dim Sum we received was delicious, fresh, and had a level of uniqueness to them. However the same could not be said for the rest of our meal. Although the food was indeed good, it didn’t seem good enough. Comparatively nothing stood out from the food you would receive at other Chinese restaurants with significantly lower price points. Another thing to note would be that the service provided was also quite average and on occasion somewhat callous. In conclusion, there are definitely better options for an enjoyable dinner with similar standards at a much lower price. As it seems going to Hakkasan is less so about the fine dining experience and more so about status and atmosphere

One of the busiest restaurants in London, the place is always busy and have fantastic vibes.  The food is so good but you need to know what to order:  Crispy Duck Salad: one of the most popular dishes here but we didn’t like it. The taste of the duck is very strong. Not everyone may like it.  Dum Sum: must order, chose what you like, I recommend the chicken, and seafood. All selection is delicious and MUST TRY. I got gifted one of the Hakkasan experience for my birthday and was not disappointed. The dim sun were the best I ever had. Portions are good and you get a fair amount of dishes with the set menus. My preferred was the silver cod. The atmosphere was enjoyable and the place looks nice too. A bit pricy but worth for an occasion.

Amazing! Super expensive but fabulous dishes. A michelin starred restaurant where the quality of the ingredients and balance of flavours is a delight to eat, along with generous size portions. My only negative is  that it  is very dark. I will start saving up for my next visit

The food was delicate & exquisite, as was the service from Sergio. The ambiance was cozy and the cocktails were divine - truly an experience all to themselves. Absolutely deserving of a Michelin star and definitely the perfect pick for a special night out!
