Formerly Guat Shoes, recently renamed Noble and Wylie produce handmade leather and vegan shoes. The owner and maker, Kenneth has been producing high quality shoes at this location since 1978. All production occurs in the School Road shop, and the process can be viewed through the large front windows.

I've had my boots well over two years and apart from summer holidays I have worn them nearly every day. Mostly walking to work, in all weather. They are very robust and I have had them resoled, the uppers still look great.

Beautiful shoes and buying them was like a real occasion having your feet measured and made to order. How special is this? Kenneth is charming and it's fantastic to support local artisan shoemaking. Guat shoes has been here for 40 years let's keep this treasure going for another 40 years!

superb local independent retailer. we have been going to here for hand crafted shoes for over 10 years and we live in a different county. the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their trade and the price is competitive I am still on my first pair of shoes for everyday use as well as more for smart. my wife has several pairs from here and it has been a godsend as it is very difficult to get good mass produced shoes for her. usually it takes 3 to 4 weeks for your shoes to be made and they will post to you. so treat yourself to a pair.
