Very sad appearance now, run down and dirty. We went as children and saw fairy doors and a fairy theme in the ‘enchanted forest’, sadly it’s no longer ‘enchanted’ by anything but weeds. Abandoned rubbish like a car was dumped in the outside area, there are no signs to tell you where to go.. at all! The toilets were gross and I couldn’t change my daughter in there due to the dirt, the food was very expensive and the eating area indoors was filthy. We saw 2 staff members the whole time we visited. And before I forget - the ticket was the best part of £50. It desperately needs new management - a few new signs so you don’t get lost and annoyed in the woods, some weed killer on the play area and a few tins of paint would be a good start..
Such a shame. Use to come here as a kid and it has fallen in to such a bad state. Very expensive to get and yet you get nothing for your money. The bird of prey display was brilliant, which is why it is getting at least two stars. But even the lady that done it said they did not work for groombridge which is why they were probably good. We saw bits of wood with nails hanging out of them on public footpaths were children ran. The old bridge near the mystic fall which was more like a cesspit was so rotten that my son nearly fell through it. Luckily I was there. My wife emailed Groombridge with our concerns and they couldn’t even be bothered to reply. Says it all really. Avoid avoid avoid. Unless you just go for the birds of prey.
RIGHT where do I start? This place is a blooming dive. I spent an arm and a bleeding leg getting in to this so called 'tourist attraction'. The whole place looks like a herd of elephants have steamed through the estate and cause major destruction. I made my views very clear to a so called manager called Nicky she was rude, unhelpful and just damn right disrespectful. Before I embarked on my travels around the estate I thought I would stop by at the Peacocks Bistro. I was served by a minor a small slice of cake on a filthy plate. I was appalled by this and it did not get my day off to a jolly good start. I will never attend again. The place has massively deteriorated and will take some serious work to get it back to its former glory. Thanks Rupert
People get very angry about the parking situation in Groombridge. They even wrote about it in the local news-and-views. But its not a problem to park in the car park, its actually encouraged! As long as you're gone in 23 hours or less. Otherwise you can expect a stern talking to. So don't push it. But if you do just want to park for a few hours, fill your boots
Massive improvements going on here, Crusoe's wood has been expanded with a stage being built and a new toilet block nearly finished. Everything is looking well looked after now, really excited to see what goes on in the future.
Had a wonderful day. Went as a large family group. Kids and adults had a great time. Lots of places to run and play. Friendly staff. Good value for money
Groombridge was wonderful we went there for the Western horse riding avent on sunday and it was brilliant i love it there .
Absolutely brilliant day out! So much to do!
