The food here is of a very high quality and the friendly service really is something else! We were staying locally and ended up eating here both nights. I think it is under new management in the recent past and it seems to have improved dramatically as a result. Heartily recommended. Good beer selection and fantastic wines. Locals really friendly too.

Friendly staff and a good selection on the menu including vegetarian and vegan options. Chef can tweak items to suit also, one of the few remaining independent non-theme pubs. It is actually an old building, although the original suffered a fire in the late 60s or early 70s, it retains its character and charm. Good choice of beers and wines too.

A very warm welcome and cosy place to stay. Food was good and the inclusive full English breakfast was a real feast. Definitely a great overnight stop.

This is one of my favourite places to eat. Lovely traditional building with a large open fire and exposed beams gives the building a very warm and cosy feel. Food is excellent and there is always a specials board to offer diners something out of the ordinary. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
