Only visited because of it's vicinity to the hotel where I was staying. The beer was reasonably priced and there was a fairly cheap but basic menu (I think this inn is part of the Harvester chain, so it follows a formula similar to Wetherspoons but no where near as successfully). The decor was drab and the whole place very unappealing. On the evening that I was there, for one drink only, there were a group of men who seemed quite threatening and there developed a loud argument between one of the men and the barman. I believe the bar staff were trying to close the pub but this customer was arguing in what appeared to be an aggressive manner that he should be served another drink. What eventually happened I know not for I left, never to return. The other customers included three or four girls who were dressed in a rather cheap fashion. You may well ask why I rate this place with two stars rather than one. The answer is that the beer was reasonably priced but the ambience deserved zero stars on the night I visited.

Lovely place to Eat with friends and family , a meal deal is most times on offer , if not all food is reasonably priced , well cooked and pleasantly delivered in a not too long wait , if you haven’t eaten here then I would encourage you to try it , I think you will enjoy the experience.

Been here two times and both times very poor service. First was last year Christmas Day. We were seated and left waiting for at least an hour between finishing one course and getting served the other - and took us around 4 - 5hrs total to complete our meal. We were told after that they were very short staffed - which is fine - but they should still keep their customers updated and not simply say this dismissively after we’ve complained about the excessive wait. Now, that was bad enough but everyone makes mistakes, right? And they were short staffed. So anyway we go back today. Not very busy today, although tables had clearly been reserved there were not that many customers there. Heating was off and was cold sitting there. And once again were simply seated and that’s it - left to it. After 40 - 45 mins of waiting we walked out. We had not yet been approached by any of the staff to see how we were doing, or had drinks, or had our first starter served... nothing. What is the excuse? There were not that many customers so I see no reason why they find it so difficult to serve their customers in a reasonable time. Considering last years poor service we were not prepared to waste a good portion of our afternoon simply waiting around again. Sorry but will not be returning here.

Love this little place, it is so cosy, reasonably priced and very personal. The food is delicious and plentiful. Totally recommend.
