I had a meeting and a tea in this place and it was good. The tea was good, the service was friendly and the place looks nice. Only problem is the place looks a bit dead, or at least it did when I was there. This may well be due to the fact that Galashiels is, I am told, economically depressed and people go elsewhere for their drinks and dinner. Sad.
When it comes to food, I like simple wholesome food. I struggled to find something for lunch on the menu. Service was quite slow the day we were there. The food I chose for lunch was nice when it came. However, the prices are above average for this area. I can't say I'd rush back. In fact, it's unlikely I will go back. However, that doesn't necessarily make it a bad place to eat, plenty of people seem to like it. It just doesn't do it for me.
I went for a Christmas meal last night with 13 friends. We had pre ordered our meal and after waiting for quite some time the starter arrived. It was beautifully presented but rather tasteless.. The main course arrived and again looked wonderful but the plates and the food were cold. We told the waiting staff and we were asked if we would like the plates to be put under the heat lamps!!! The food was obviously not probed prior to service. Eventually we got our food back and the plates were hot but the food lukewarm. We paid £18 each for 2 courses. I along with a few others were still unable to eat my main course. We were given a glass of prosecco each by way of an apology but really not good enough.... The manager was nowhere to be seen and the poor waiting staff were left to deal with it... Then I remembered that the last time I went there we were charged for the table next to us drinks which were about to £30..luckily I noticed!! The table had already left though...
Never been to galashiels and we where there on a cold damp Sunday. Had soup and pasta dish for lunch very tasty. Prices ok and service efficient. Some of the china though could have done with a bit of a scrub!
The sofas are a great asset. The film is a unique touch. The decor is chic. The food is delice. The staff are amazing and well dressed. This is a rare find outside of Edinburgh.
went there for a eggs Benedict waited for 45 minutes and I just left as it was beyond a joke. I also paid for it in advance but to be honest I couldn't care less. so I went to Mc McDonalds instead it was much better because they managed to get my food out. Ow and also there were only three other people there as it was dead and they still couldn't give me a simple eggs Benedict.!!!!!!!!!.
Love the food here!! NEver disappointed... AND..they don't use these sugar free garbage syrups in the lattes others are using! Lovely people working there too thanks for great service x
Delicious coffee cake and good cup of cappuccino served by friendly cheery staff. Definitely worth another visit to sample the menu soon.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. The menu is very interesting. And the food was delicious. A definite must visit again!!
Large group attendance, staff very good, food cool on arrival, however very tasty and presented well. Nice pleasant interior.
