According to their website Gramex closed several years ago 2017. I used to go there regularly on my annual trips to London. It was one of the great places to find classical LPs in the 1990's and early 2000's.
Don't bother trying to sell to this dank and grim basement shop. I took 700 classical CDs along and the rude and charmless old man barely opened the tops of two boxes before dismissing the 700 CDs as too generalist. There was no way he could have known the contents of twelve boxes by skimming through 30 CDs. So don't waste your time trying to sell him anything. The website suggests he is friendly and prepared to take time, but this is not the case. He even shortchanged me on the Congestion Charge giving me £10 instead of £11.50. Best advice about Grim-ex: AVOID!
Roger is so sweet, he really looks after his customers and makes you feel very at home. This shop is an absolute must visit for classical music lovers!
Don't bother for jazz, but if you have time to sort through second hand classical CDs then give it a go.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, Roger the owner is a charismatic chap and has the experience of years behind him and a wealth of knowledge,
Nice expereince
