We have just returned from a wonderful two-night stay in our campervan, and we couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing getaway.nThe 12:00 PM departure time allowed us to enjoy a slow, stress-free morning before heading home.nThe Pitches: The campsite layout is exceptional. Instead of an open field, it features individual nooks carved out of the trees, offering amazing privacy and a truly wild-camping feel for your van. The Setting: Nestled in stunning woodlands, we visited while the beautiful rhododendrons were in full bloom, adding vibrant splashes of color around our pitch. Waking up to the sound of birds singing through the canopy was pure bliss. The Atmosphere & Activities: Exceptionally quiet and peaceful. The site offers immediate access to fantastic walking trails right from the grounds, making it perfect for exploring without having to pack up the campervan. The Facilities: Clean, modern, and great facilities overall. The shower blocks and utility areas were immaculate and easily accessible. Local Highlight: A nice off road walk expect for a tiny stretch into the village brings you to The Foresters Arms. The staff there were exceptionally friendly, and the pub itself is comfortable and stylish. We spent our lunch in their beautiful, covered outside garden area and had a delicious dinner of fish and chips. An absolute gem of a campsite. It’s dog friendly too, although we didn’t take our two on this trip. We will definitely be returning!
Great little get away. Could do with better connectivity and the pitches re-levelled. But other than that, great place to stay in the woods. Toilets and showers spotless.
Graffam is a hidden gem.nEach pitch is deep in the forest.nThe staff keep the site spotless.
Lovely quiet campsite in the forest complete with birdsong including a tawny owl in the evening. Great location for walking and cycling. Visited Petworth, Midhurst, Graffham village great little cafe and shop and the three moles pub at Selham by bike or on foot. Staff very friendly and facilities kept clean. Would come again.
Love this site. We are pitched like several CSs in small groups, sometimes you're just a single.nI've always caravanned so I cannot comment in tent pitching, though they seemed to cope.nShowers and laundry at the top of the site, water points in various locations and more toilets near the entrance.nThe entry from the county road is along a straight, narrow rough track.nMany visitors complained about it's roughness; potholes and such but I had no difficulty.nIt seems to me that all you have to do is obey the 5mph rule or drive even steadier. A method totally foreign to some hooligans. A recent experiment was conducted at a different site where a Tracker recorded all vehicle speeds; as I recall about 95% disobeyed the 5mph by about 5mph; 60% or so did up to 15 mph; one idiot was clocked at 30mph!nLittle wonder, then that road bumps proliferate.nI'm lucky with the weather and can no longer walk far so some sort of ancillary transport seems essential.nExcellent shop in Graffham village.nBrilliant staff. Here for another week or so.nnUpdate:- staying for 3weeks this time. Still brilliant. Same terrific staff. Same tortoises.nFar fewer campers this time, being late September, although a Duke of Edinburgh group have a block booking in 10 day's time. Beautiful and quiet.nVery highly recommended.
