Had an amazing time at the breakfast with Santa! I took my niece and she loved it staff lovely as always and great decorations. My niece got so much for the small price of £6 she had that much fun she didn’t want to leave 100% recommend this great pub stay tuned as they have great events from now onwards
Golden Lion has a fab atmosphere and you are made to feel very welcome in here. The drink selection is great and there is fab viewing for all sports. Didn’t know they also had a function room too x
Xmas breakfast with Santa. Poorly organised event. Tickets at £6 pp not a bad price I thought. Until we arrived and are then told only the kids get to eat and adults have to pay separately. Wouldn’t really be an issue but none of this was stated at time of purchase so we’ve basically paid £6 for a seat. Not enough tables set out for the guests. Also tried to say we had to eat downstairs when the event was upstairs although this decision was not upheld. On the plus side the function room is really nicely decorated
Friendly atmos, nice vibe, traditional, local family pub design and feel. Nice pool corner and lovely benches and large green outside. The bar staff were really welcoming and helpful. The food was excellent. Great value, proper indian cuisine. We had the garam chickpea vegan option and massala chips, curry was v tasty, fresh, authentic, and the chips a great spicy side. Seems to be split into two sections, one more for just drinking with the locals, watching the big screen, other half if you fancy a more quiet sit down with food. Would/will definitely go again.
Food was absolutely disgusting.i ordered cod and chips for £7.00 to recieve a meal that i could of got from heron food for £1.79. The burger my son ordered was dry and and not worth £7.50 again I could of got his meal from heron for £3.00. never again will I go to this pub.
Went here on mother and daughter date food was great atmosphere was great to and Danielle behind the bar was very polite and welcoming
Great old pub with good bears and a good selection of very tasty food . Will definitely be returning very soon .
Just finished my homemade cottage pie, home cooked chips and onion rings! WOW what an amazing lunch, pub was sparkling and busy the staff were amazing!
Great vibe throughout the pub, service for food and drink is second to none will be returning and would recommend to anyone.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Visited for a birthday get together, had a brilliant night.
