I generally only have a special curry and to be honest I've had better. That said it's a varied menu and my food review reflects more on me than them. Very clean and good service. You pay your money and make your choice.Food: 4/5

Salt and pepper chips are just chips over salted with onions, no pepper in sight!

First time I've used these guys in many years and probably the last, Really disappointed ordered spicy chicken in black bean sauce the below came, called them back thinking I had got the wrong order delivered, no they say spicy chicken with black bean sauce doesn't come with sauce....wow worst tenner I've spent

Been going here for quite some time, and I have to say I've been impressed..... till tonight Tuesday 16th August, my partner went in for a chicken chow mien which I've struggled to fined a good one in this area since I moved here in 2015, but the Golden Dragon surprised me when we bought the first chicken chow mien, it was wonderful it had the smoky flavour and the chicken was in long stripes like it had just been taken off the roasted brest it was that good I ate the whole lot, which I don't normally do. Back to tonight on opening the container it had no colour at all,there was pale chunks of chicken that looked like they had been reformed and boiled, the onions were slimy and pale, same for the beansprouts, it was nothing like a chow mien that I've had from there in the past, the noodles were on the bottom of the container not mixed in the way a normal or previous chow miens from here have been, now I've watch how to make a chow mien on many cooking shows with Chines cooks and everything goes into the wok, and is cooked/fried together, not just the noodles everything is mixed up in the wok at a high heat so you get the smoky tast that comes from the wok. This was horrible the chicken look and was slimy along with onions and beansprouts I tried to eat the noodles, onions and beansprouts leaving all the rest along with the chicken to my partner, I couldn't even eat the small amount as there was no flavour at all, now my partner is the type of guy that will eat anything, I add mitt I'm more fussy, but when my partner eats very little and says he's had enough then you know there is something wrong. The chicken chow mien we had to night unfortunately is exactly how every other Chinese takeaway in  Pontefract and surrounding area seem to cook the chow mien I've no idea why this has changed, but something has most definitely changed and not for the good sadly. Will we order from the Golden Dragin again, I'm not sure to be honest. I realise in these times of economic problems things are difficult but I would rather pay a little more and get good food than  what we got served up tonight

I luv the curry sauce at this place , it sounds benign an not of importance but when u want a bag of chips to go from something to eat to EPIC , I work at a Chinese but I will drive here after work for that curry sauce , if there's a few of ya for 15 quid get a munch box with curry sauce, I feel like iv spokeva lot about curry sauce so il add my only complaint that a bottle of pop costs 2.75 and theres a shop that sells bigger cheaper bottle next door to it, but its worth it just for the curry sauce  bit of an edit , I do the deliveries here now and I can tell u its the busiest Chinese in town and it shows in pure tips I get because the food is immaculate,  never had a complaint not one since iv been there , iv worked in lots of chineses doing deliveries and without a doubt they are the nicest iv met. If u like salt an pepper chunks turn em upside down in ya bag so all the onion an garlic covers the chunks , it's amazing , plus if u ask for extra say mushrooms or prawns they don't substitute room with other stuff like chicken or peppers etc what they do is charge u a little extra and it comes in a bigger container , no other Chinese takeaway does that but golden dragon. Enjoy

Well done to the new owners! The food we had at the weekend was fresh, non-greasy, well cooked and plentiful. The only complaint I would make is that the chicken used in the Fu Yung had the look, texture and taste of heavily processed chicken. Other than that, it was spot on.

Now the second time we have ordered and once again great food, I don't know why it has taken us so long to visit. The service is great, definitely a place on my great takeaway list. Prices are reasonable as well. I doubt you will be disappointed. Left overs for Lunch!!

My family did not like the food we got there. They had chicken fried rice and special fried rice and even after adding our own sauce, it tasted so below our standards that they THREW AWAY THE FOOD! The sweet & sour chicken I had wasn't too bad. That and the pleasant lass behind the counter is what got this place the second star.
