Okay, I admit it, we only called in to this museum because we had bought ice-creams in the cafe (in a railway carriage) and got free entry and so thought we would give it a try. It is a charming gem of a museum that we found very interesting and were so glad we had taken the time to look and we learnt about local railways. The staff were all friendly and helpful too. We were passing on the lovely Glenfinnan viaduct walk from the monument, which is well worth doing for the views.

Quaint little station, fantastic and resourceful staff willing to help and open up for you. Take some change for a donation or two, especially if you need to use the loo ;). Nice shop too, lots of books, postcards, mugs and stuff to buy, so go prepared!

Great little musem gem. Stopped by on the way to Fort William in order to go on a small hike up to see the viaduct. The lovely museum staffer was just about to close down the place, but let us leave our suitcases there locked in while we were out. Then he came back in time for when we needed to catch the next train 2 hours later, where we also took a look at the musem. Couldn't ask for more friendliness. Glenfinnan valley is amazing and the viaduct isn't the main attraction to see to be honest!
