We used Getaway Cars last weekend to get to and from a wedding including picking up my elderly mother and then a couple at a second location then picking up/dropping off in a different order. They gave a price on booking which did not alter. To help reduce issues they booked the same driver for both legs of the journey and he was on time, friendly and courteous. I will use them again in the future.

Just had a taxi. Fine up until he decided to not give us the change in the cab, handed it out of the window and drove away before we could check it, he had short changed us. Don’t recommend.

Dreadful service tonight from Getaway, booked a taxi 7 days ago to ensure a safe trip home, but taxi did not arrive, ended up walking! Will not use Getaway again, poor service.

Long and short of it: Don't use them if you need a reliable service. Went to a wedding with a bunch of friends and needed to get a taxi from the hotel to the venue and back again. Booked the journey out with one firm, but they didn't have one available for the journey back. So I called Getaway Cars at 9.30am to get a taxi for 8 at 11.30pm to head back to the hotel after a wedding. Told them I didn't mind of it was one car doing shuttle runs as it was a short journey, and it was fairly late, but was told they had an 8 seater available, so we expected it to be fine. So 11.30pm rolls around, we're all waiting, and the taxi is nowhere to be seen. Called them after 10mins and was told that the taxi we'd booked was still finishing up another job due to people being late. So we waited another 10mins, called again and were told that the taxi had picked up another fare instead of us. After a quick discussion, they advised they would send another car. Eventually a replacement arrived just after midnight. This driver advised that he'd clocked off at 10 and was called out to pick us up due to this mistake. Guy was pleasant and apologetic, so can't fault him really. Got back to the hotel, and explained to the staff what had happened. They asked who we'd booked with, and they just laughed, and explained that they were the local "last resort" taxi firm. I think that really explains it all that the locals have such a low opinion of them. I haven't given them 1 star as the driver we did get was perfectly fine, and the staff on the phone were apologetic, and were having to deal with a difficult situation. Unfortunately, they employ unreliable staff and let down customers. It wasn't a last minute booking, they knew about this just over 12hrs ahead of time, and still managed to screw it up.

Great service. We Was calling all other companies. But no one available for few hours . I did explain need to go to the hospital. But answer was same ,sorry we booked . Than we tried getaway cars they was booked too for couple of hours . But when I mention that need to take our daughter hospital .they send it straight away and taxi was outside in three mins . I can say while doing business they have humantity too . Recommend to all.
