Place with many rooms as theatre stages. I have been to see The great Gatsby theatre performance at this mansion. At first it was strange kind of theatre but the atmosphere, the acting and presentation of this musical at the mansion was fenomenal. Full of energy. It adds to the atmosphere of spectacle if you are dressed appropriately to the time of the era. One of a kind.
No photos allowed inside while actors are working but it's so much fun! I recommend you arrive early and get a drink from the bar before the "show" starts. All actors were brilliant a really fun evening. They encourage you to come dressed up as well.
Herded onto the stairway and explanation of the coming event, and the rules are explained. Absolutely no photos until afterwards. Our photos are from afterwards! Even the bar tenders are in on the act with phony American accents. There the drinks range is limited and prices quite high. No paper receipt, only receipts sent by email. There is little seating but the up-close performance is fun and some audience members are enlisted into it. Follow the groups that are taken from the main room to see other rooms and scenes. There is an interval halfway, which is needed to have a break from all the noise and flashing lights. It was worth the £15 of our discounted ticket but it wouldn’t be worth the full price, three times more. The location is handy for Bond Street tube station, just a short walk away. It is a shame that the majority of the audience didn’t dress Gatsby style but there were enough that did that if you go dressed so, you’d not look out of place socially!
Interactive, amazing and not boring at all! Even if you are not really into this, you will enjoy it! Get dressed so you feel the spirit of 1920! Actors are super, get a drink and enjoy
As a musical theatre enthusiast I was so excited to go to an immersive experience. However, I could never predict how incredible this experience would be. It outdid every show I have ever been to and I have a great idea to book it again every week! The actors were incredible each with such talent and incredible skill to control a room. In particular the actress of Jordan Baker was incredible the whole night! I recommend this to anyone who is looking for an amazing night and completely take advantage of the chance to dress up to go to the theatre!
Positive and different experience, I feel it misses something that could refine it but overall I would definitely recommend it. I went with a group of friends and we were welcomed in a engaging and welcoming way. The drinks were good and fair and the premises amazingly decorated. I advise to dress accordingly to the recommendations and you will find yourself in a very pleasant environment. Nice costumes and actors really talented. The play is interactive and the audience can actively participate. But be aware that the audience is split in different rooms at different times. I separated from my friends for example and that can be interesting or disturb you so be careful to stay close to each other if you are in group and don't want to split. Loved the dancing, I wish there was more. It is a shame also that if you are not aware you don't get to visit all the different rooms. There is a main room where I thought I would have got the most but at the end I did not get the story in full. Anyway it really felt like a nice party. The idea is for everyone having a different experience and that worked well. After the play, at dinner we funnily talked about what happened to each one. Lovely night.
Madness! Difficult to follow. Actors not miked so had to shout over noise of audience as they weaved in and out. If actors were moving away or behind other people then you couldn't hear them. Some members of audience selected to follow actors into rooms off the main hall. If your in the wrong place you won't get this opportunity. We only got into one room, turned away from others as full. It pays to be pushy! There must be a fairer allocation to get into a room but may loose the informality. By missing the action in side rooms felt cheated! I only got a limited experience. If you don't know the story then I think you may struggle. On a positive many audience members dressed up in theme. Some actors very enthusiastic.
OH MY GOD Definitely the best show I have seen in a while. WHAT AN FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. Venue= Easy to locate free parking on a Sunday could do with aircon but hey it’s the 1920s!!!! Crowed = Mixed, young, old, dressed up, plain clothed and casual. Show= immersive, EPIC, so much so that I have recommended and will definitely will go again as there where things and rooms that I didn’t get to see cleverly put together Bar= Very reasonable for location Acting= Phenomenal! Especially the characters that play the roles of George, Nick & Myrtle What a voice Myrtle has Overall= a fantastic night out. This immersive production gets a five star from me. A very versatile atmosphere with a great cast. It is able to accommodate many for example l. You can go with partner, family, friends or even by yourself and I promise you are guaranteed to have a great time. Thank you to all the cast and staff “Exquisite” Absolutely superb. Recommend= HELL YEAH Advice Book, dress the part and go have a bloody good time
Loved the show , I didn't know we would be in the play, which was a nice surprise. The actors were great! Highly recommend it if you want something different than just sitting down.
