Seems a new lease of life in this part of Hunslet in Leeds. Not too far away from the city centre, parking is close but wheelchair users can access the gardens more easily through the side gate. And it is the gardens during summer that are an attraction, for sitting and eating and drinking and listening to Mocash Entertainment with MC Joe. More seats are needed if patrons are as many as I saw. Indoor can be cramped.
If you want to see an amazing pub and drink awesome ales then come here. It’s that simple. The Gardiners is one of Kirkstall brewery’s pubs. It was a Tetley pub back I. The day I think. It is unspoilt and has so many amazing historica features. A variety of rooms, stained glass, etched glass, old brewery and whisky mirrors, lovely woodwork, old bell pushes for service at your table. I guess they don’t work the room we were in must be the Scottish room, all the brewery mirrors were old Scots brewery’s, now sadly closed. It had one of those fireplaces that is so beautiful it’s almost ugly. The beer was excellent with 7 real ale pumps. I had a lovely Karksall pale ale and a guest Theakstons strong porter which was ace. A mile up the road is Kirkstall abbey and museum. Parking up the side and round back. We did not try the food but it looked interesting on the menu. Would have stayed for more if I could.
Ash was an absolute saint. Incredible food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Can't ask for moreFood: 5/5
A lovely, friendly pub .. very relaxed atmosphere .. and £2 a pint for certain pints between 12 and 3.00 Monday to Friday! Landlady very welcoming, and very convenient as next to Tulip Industrial Estate which includes The Range, B&M, Jolleys, to name but a few businesses.
I used to drink here many moons ago, was absolutely heaving then, haven't been in for many years, went for a Toby round that area with my son, show him pubs in that area, this place is under new management with coloured bar staff, and coloured clientele, felt very uneasy drinking in that atmosphere, never drank a pint so quick, won't go again.
Great pub good people and very friendly, good fun Sunday afternoons with games of bingo and oy also disco karaoke from 3 till 7
